My SSBB HRC contest records as of 2/6/2013:

I am aware these records are improvable, but some characters are unimprovable. If a user on vizzed gets summoned from these character names, I apologize.

HRC records by Stevie 764:

Mario : 1744.5 ft
luigi : 1859.5 ft
peach : 1715.4 ft
Bowser: 2133.3 ft
Donkey Kong: 1698.5 ft
Diddy Kong: 2123.9 ft
Yoshi: 1957.2 ft (2k possible)
Wario: 1760.4 ft
Link: 1692.1 ft
Zelda: 1768.9 ft
Ganondorf: 3384.3 ft (OMG BEST CHARACTER FOR HRC!!!)
Toon Link: 1892.7 ft
Samus: 2034.4 ft
Pit: 1675.6 ft
Ice Climbers: 1686.1 ft (Can't go higher. )
R.O.B: 1704.9 ft
kirby : 1695.3 ft
Meta Knight: 1791 ft
King Dedede: 1832.7 ft
Olimar: 1926.9 ft
Fox: 2242.9 ft
Falco: 2516.9 ft
Wolf: 2638.5 ft
Captain Falcon: 1894.4 ft
pikachu : 1771.2 ft (crappy down smash spike for hrc)
Pokemon Trainer: 1720.4 ft using Charizard
Lucario: 1710 ft
Jigglypuff: 1629.9 ft
Marth: 1689.4 ft
Ike: 1661.8 ft
Ness: 1804 ft
Lucas: 1803.7 ft
Mr. Game & Watch: 1794.4 ft
Snake: 1679.9 ft
sonic : 1670.3 ft

Total distance: 66305.3 ft

Now I will list the top 3 distances I have gotten uniquely:

3. Falco: 2516.9 ft
2. Wolf: 2638.5 ft
1. Ganondorf: 3384.3 ft

I have replays of my best records, and I will explain my ganondorf strat right now.

You only have 10 seconds in HRc to deal as much damage as possible, so this was very perfect. Didn't take too many attempts after failing with another strat.

How to recreate strat: (Remember, only 10 seconds to do this, so nobody on vizzed could do this except for me.

Walk to bat and throw at sandbag.

Current Damage: 22%

Down air smash which grabs the bat and hits the sandbag into the air.

Current Damage: 45%

Double Jump, quickly drop bat, and do a down air smash, making a bat drop.

Current Damage at first bat drop: 83%

Regrab the bat, and do the same 2 times.

Damage at second bat drop: 118%

Damage at final bat drop: 151%

Then super quickly double jump, and throw the bat up into the air. Do a normal warlock punch as soon as the game will allow input after the bat up throw. Deals 20 damage on bat hitting sandbag. 33% damage done from the warlock punch upclose.

Damage at the end of the run: 204%

I managed to do a warlock punch at the last possible moment. With the bat throw and warlock punch combo, I got 3384.3 ft. There are other strats, but I don't have any way to get this uploaded to YouTube so I have to explain the strat.

I see you used Pikachu lol! XD

Anyway, why don't you talk about the times we did HRC? We had some epic moments, and epic fails!

Boy, over 3,000 ft. by your self! I don't do the HRC often because, I get very mad at all the epic fail i do when they were suppose to be epic wins!

This weakened, I will post all my characters records and see how they compare to yours. (I haven't even used all the characters yet )

But so far Steve, your HRC records are better then mines....

Matthew2321 : We had to do some strategizing for coop HRC. But the HRC WR in coop back before June 2009 was literally like 12x our co-op HRC wifi record. If we ever get 2500 ft in coop HRC on wifi, it will be something to share. But wifi has bad input delay and some lag, it makes it pretty much impossible for me to do the bat drop trick to amaze you. It was quite epic back when we started HRC together. You was using bowser's flame attack while I was down smash ground attacking inside the flames hitting the sandbag to cancel my attack's momentum going sideways. Then our fails come in, like when you couldn't get to the bat, I had to do a Non-bat smash to get it somewhere. Better than waiting for a 0.0 ft AKA no distance result. Whenever I was ganondorf, I always do a reverse warlock punch to make some good ending results. We should do more HRC over the weekend and I will do a bat throw and warlock punch combo with ganondorf at the end. Because of the input delay, get out of the way for me when it is almost 2 seconds left and I will grab the bat at the start to get a good result. My ganondorf strat is really good and pretty much like 99.xx% of my maximum. In the future, I can go for 3500 ft.

It's definitly good to compare scores with another player on vizzed, especially to see which character has better distances. You basicly have to learn strats which do require bat dropping, which in HRC form, it is a neutral Z drop, then make sure you have vertical space between yourself and the bat, and down smash at the perfect time so the sandbag loses all it's angled momentum by the bat drop. Ganondorf and Wolf's down smash is a perfect example of cancelling all momentum and creating only downward knockback without bouncing the character in the air like Link, and Toon Link's down spike.

A really weird fact in HRC for SSBM and SSBB, is that if you swing the bat as far away from sandbag as the game allows, you can actually get the sandbag to go further. For my ganondorf strat, it doesn't matter for a swing, because a warlock punch and a bat drop at the same exact time at the end of HRC equals way more knockback than a normal bat swing once a specified percentage is reached before the normally done swing. My favorite spikes are Ganondorf, Wolf, Yoshi, and sometimes, Donkey Kong. I do love their spikes because it only makes the sandbag or opponent go perfectly downward without a angle. My most hated spikes are Kirby, Fox, Pikachu, Jigglypuff, Wario, Mario, Bowser, and many others. Mainly because it causes the sandbag to launch at a angle even if you spike it. Spikes normally only go at a down angle, but for many characters, especially pikachu's because his sucks because of the delayed spike and you can't cancel the wait/lag frames to move again. It seems that Ganondorf always has the best spike for me. I think others may agree on this due to how the best record ALWAYS comes from Ganondorf. I always hated doing the Ice Climbers HRC. The character not holding the bat ends up attacking the sandbag when the shield is down after the time limit which is the reason why I hate them in HRC. My top hated spikes are Jigglypuff, Kirby, and Pikachu. Jigglypuff's the worst spike character, because his spike combos, which can break the shield barrier in one single Down Air Smash which is translated into pokemon as the move, Drill Kick. Rollout is useless in HRC, but there's many strats that mostly have to be edited slightly for each character. Sometimes, the strat works for more than one character, such as Wolf and Ganondorf.
