First of all I never knew this game existed .So I will explain a bit   back in 2006  Nintendo successful ds had a game called new super Mario bros . Which was successful very successful on the handheld or plat former . So apparently who ever had this game  went hmmm what would happen if that game was released 15 years earlier on the snes . That was a question nobody but the deveploer asked then he came up with the solution retro Mario bros.   Anyways lets get into this game 

Graphics

honestly this wasn't not just a map change this was a full texture hack. While these graphics are not exactly the same as the ds game it does resemble it . Honestly I think the Mario sprite was directly taken from   Mario and Luigi superstar saga for the gba . Anyways all though it seems like it was ripped considering this was a Mario world hack  I'm very impressed with these graphics it was different than kazio world or all those other Mario hacks. So I give it a 10 its not ds perfect quality but it does do a good job of resembling it . 

Sound   again this was to resemble Mario bros ds . The main sound compartment is all of the recongizeable Mario jumps and what not . Soundtrack  Some Songs were directly taken from Super Mario World  The Rest of the Soundtrack is meant to be like the Mario bros for ds and overall I think the person who made this game did a good job resembling the Mario bros ds soundtrack.  the sound its not perfect but certainly close so I give it a 9 its a little off 

Addictiveness Honestly I thought this Mario hack was gonna play like junk and boy was I wrong this game is just accurate enough into the Mario series  every thing that made Mario bros fun to play is here and enjoyable . I have to give credit to who ever made this hack I'm surprised it played well and true to the series addictiveness gets a 10 

Story well this was meant to resemble Mario bros ds So the story would be the same bowser has kidnapped princess peach and you play as Mario kick bowser and his minions butt to rescue peach  . Only difference other being the graphics is the intro is different . So story gets a 6 just a different intro that's all 

Depth  This really offers a texture version of Mario bros ds on the super Nintendo so you should have every shortcut bosses items and what not  if I am correct . Honestly like other Mario games it will take a long time to beat because it has so many levels depth gets a 10 

Difficulty again I'm surprised this played very well the person or team deveploing this hack had to knew Mario world and the series inside out really I found the game to be well balanced in ai difficulty  and the controls work perfectly as planned only thing is the level finish  part of the game is a little off  and it does not have the same theme as the ds original . Anyways difficulty gets a 5 well balanced for Mario fans or players 

Final Verdict I'm really happy I played this  I thought it was gonna  be junk  cant really blame me there because most home brews I have seen or played was terrible . This game however turned out to be excellent I really like it . I give the game a 9.7 its a really neat hack
