Hey guys, this is ender44 and your reading my review of the legend of Zelda: links awakening. This game too the Zelda series in a new direction, actually a few different directions. This game brought back that classic top down look you missed from the classic Zelda games. It also brought some of the ideas that I believed contributed to the making of my favorite game of all time, the legend of Zelda majoras mask. This is where we see similarities between the two, both drop our hero into the middle of a story where he knows as much as we do. Next of all, it brought Zelda with you. With just two double A batteries, you had a Zelda game with you EVERYWHERE! This game is believed by many to be a direct sequel to a link to the past, though I do not believe Nintendo has confirmed this. Evidence shows it is by the fact that link knows who Zelda is, he already has a sword, can do the spin attack that a link to the past link can, and this game appeared right after a link to the past. This game also has a color version and a black and white version. The color version having an extra dungeon and the feature of the game boy printer.

Graphics-
This game looks good-to say the least. The game boy didn't have the best graphics around, but I feel they did this game the justice it deserves. I was able to tell what the enemies where, comparing them to their 3D counterpart. Second of all, the look of the dungeons in this game is very pleasing, they look very well done, and look almost as good as a link to the past's dungeons, which I think is a job well done considering one was done on the SNES and another was done on the game boy. This game also makes use of side-scrolling graphics as well, using the rocs feather to allow link to jump. This was also an opportunity for Nintendo to bring in some Mario enemies which I don't think look the best in a Zelda game.

Sound- This game outdid itself when it came to music. Consider the hardware limitations of the system and then think about the music in it. Nintendo pushed itself to the limit, making songs that were incredibly complex for the game boy, and more importantly, songs that sound fantastic. You spend most of your time in Zelda in the over world, that's just common sense. So, when you have an overwold your going to want an awesome over world theme to go with it right? Well, you got it, Link's awakening has one of the best over world themes in a Zelda game, and definitely the best in the handhelds. A link to that will be right here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZngXFO8XLLg">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZngXFO8XLLg Second of all, we have the ballad of the wind fish, considered be many to be one of the best songs in the series. It was incredibly complex for the game boy and sounds fantastic, a link to that will be right here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8qAkjemBf3M">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8qAkjemBf3M

Addictiveness- This game kind of cheats when it comes to addictiveness. This game is plenty fun, and I do believe that its quite addicting, but picture yourself being some 10 year old on a long car ride with a game boy. That's how this game cheats, if you beat the game, and you have nothing to do on a car ride, what else are you going to do, your probably going to play it again.

Story- I like to think the story of this game built the foundation to majoras mask. You are a hero who had just saved Zelda, but some troublesome circumstances puts you  in a very strange new world where, as I said before, link knows as much as we do. He has no idea why he is here, what he is supposed to be doing, or what the heck a wind fish is. But, as is his duty by having the name link, he has to save this world. As in the other games you know the over world well, as you have lived there for years. In this story though, link is set out on a quest he knows nothing about, and I personally love that. This game had at least more of a story than the ones before it did, minus a link to past. It has not much of a story besides, "Hi welcome stranger, I know we just met but if you ever want to leave your going to go on a journey that will more than likely kill you... so have fun!" I don't know about you, but that kind of sounds like the opening to a  horror movie.

Depth- This game has much more to do than the Zelda games before it. It has eight complex dungeons- that requires completion of a quest that will require you to think very hard to complete- to get in. Then you actually have to do the dungeon. This game has plenty of heart pieces to collect, has mini games you can do, which are quite fun. And you have these things called secret seashells, which I never actually managed to collect all of them, so I'm not really sure what happens when you do.

Difficulty- This game is actually a little easy. The dungeons don't require too much puzzle solving, and this game doesn't take too much time to complete. It is fun, but it wont have you as stumped as some of the other games will.

Well thanks for reading guys, I hope I helped your decision of whether or not you want to play this game. This is ender44 here, and goodbye.
