Paper Mario. Where do I begin.
Oh yea, this game was pretty much the game of my dreams. My childhood, in other words, before I discovered EarthBound.
This game has so much to do, so many things to collect, many sidequests, a wonderful battle system, a good overworld, and interesting characters and party members, so i don't know why any Mario fan would dislike this game.
I'd say that Mario in paper was one of the most brilliant ideas ever, and this is the epicness that started an epic series of Paper.
Anyways, down to business with this review...... *le tries to come up with idea*
GRAPHICS: 8.8 This game had pretty good graphics for the N64, I'd say it looked pretty good for a 2001 game.
The characters are obviously made of paper, but they look REALLY good.
But the best things are the effects. The stairs rising in the Koopa Brother's fortress, Dry Dry Ruins rising, all of those effects are amazing for the Nintendo 64. I'd say the badges are neat, too.
This is a pretty good N64 game graphic wise, which is one of the elements that grabbed my attention. Although the graphics only got a year of fame before Super Mario Sunshine quickly passed it.
SOUND: 10I really love this game's music, although I don't have too much to say about it.

I never really liked the enemy and Mini Boss theme, but the Chapter Boss's themes BLEW MY MIND. The Koopa Bros.'s theme was a good theme to headbang to, Tutankoopa was my favorite, Tubba Blubba's theme was good, I liked General Guy's theme, Lava Piranha never really seemed to interest me, Huff n' Puff's theme I never paid attention too, since the battle was so hard that I just paid attention to him

, and Crystal King's theme is pretty awesome.

Some of the overworld music was pretty catchy too, like the route to King Goomba's fortress. Dry Dry Ruins and other dungeon music is pretty good. This game's sound is one of the more attractive parts of it. :3
Addictiveness: 10 This is one of the best games I've ever played, no lie. I can pretty much play this game nonstop, and playing it nowadays brings back so many memories. :"D
I was pretty much playing this game like a man addicted crack when I was younger, and although I prefer EarthBound now, This game is always in my memories.
STORY: 9.7I really like the game's story. Although I really wanna tell the whole story, to avoid spoilers, I'll just tell the main thing. Spoilers may come up, so be cautious, if it's your call.
So Bowser wants his selfish wishes to be granted, so he constantly asks the Star Spirits to grant his wishes. The Star Spirits don't answer his wishes because of the selfish level. So, Bowser goes to Star Haven, turns them all into cards, and steals the Star Rod to grant his own wishes. He gives the Star Spirit Cards to his minions around the world. Then he goes and lifts Peach's Castle, kidnaps Peach, then sends Mario flying. So, you gotta go save the Star Spirits, collect badges, and gain new party members. I'd say this is a pretty decent story.
DEPTH: 10I'd say this game really has a lot to offer. Like I said earlier, you have a long, fun - filled story to go through, many badges to collect, lots of side quests, hidden items, and a good battle system. And LOTS of paper! Yea, what else could anyone ask for on an N64 RPG? RPGs on the N64 aren't too common, so this game is good to play.
DIFFICULTY: 5.1 I don't think this game was that hard, although it IS very time consuming to do all of the side quests and collect all the badges. Some bosses are tough, though, like the Master, The Crystal King, Huff n' Puff, and Bowser (Last Battle). I honestly think they're the only hard bosses, so I'll give difficulty a low rating. This WILL be a hard game for you gaming newbies, however.
So yea, This is a VERY good RPG to play, it really has a lot to offer, and I recommend this for any fan of Role Playing Games.
