 so I tried Windows 8; absolutely hate it. It is only a matter of time before Microsoft busts on it. So, I need to know somewhere besides Toshiba's site where I can buy a new battery and charger for my old 2007 karmen Toshiba, and won't cost me $150 for the battery, and $100+ for the charger. 
Any help, guys?
P.S. I can live with a 6 or a 8V battery for the laptop. I do not need the 12V one.

A Toshiba Satellite then? I don't suppose you know the exact model number? You'd probably need to know this to get the right battery for your laptop. This site claims to take like half off Toshiba's asking price:

Look on the bottom of your laptop, there should be a sticker with a couple bar codes on it, a serial number, and the model number. Or usually around the screen or wrist pad there should be something like SL2994 or something. That's the number we need to help.
