Hi there... I was just wondering

Why is it that when I' playing a game, it freezes for like a minute, and this can happen a few times.

Is this a problem with my computer, or is it the website?
Or is it something to do with the game itself??

                                                                                I don't know, pleeease help

                                                                                             =) =) =)

Is this during game play or before?
What emulator are you using, and what games does this happen on?
What operating system do you have and what browsers do you use?

There are many things that can have an affect on game play, and it's hard to address your question without knowing a few more details.

I believe I know the answer. This happens to me a lot, so don't worry.

You're playing the game on the game page, right? If so, it's due to the fact that the page will refresh automatically after some time for reasons beyond me, which makes the game also freeze up for a moment.

If you exit out of that age and go somewhere else, for example the Board Index, while you're playing the game, the refreshing will stop and same goes for the random freezing, Nya~.

Hope that solves it~ :3

It normally happens during game play,
these game can range from Pokémon to Mario to Sonic the hedgehog.

The emulator I use is the one from this website.

I think it might just be my computer speed cause it happens with other emulators like visual gameboy advanced

Oh, is there anything I can do to improve it

Hm.  Interesting.  I've noticed the refreshing too, but it's never caused a glitch in my game play (and I almost always keep the game page up).

What browser are you using Mega?

Oh, that explains the lag on here.

                                                                                                      Thanks a lot.

I will just have to deal with lag on ordinary emulators.

But thanks for helping, I thought there was something wrong with my wireless

Lag is usually caused by your computer not being good enough to handle the game. If your computer's specs are just on the edge of what's good enough, something like that auto-refresh can cause momentary freezes and not sitting on the game page while you play can at least solve the problem there... but if your computer's specs are really too poor, it will lag regardless of what's going on in the background.

The best you can do is close everything that's not the game and make sure no other applications are running that may bog the game down.

The older the system, the better the chances are of it running.

NES and weaker games should probably run at full speed on even the worst computers. 16-bit consoles (SNES, Genesis, etc) may require a bit more power but I honestly used to play them back in 2000 with a 600MHz Celeron machine with 128mb of RAM... so they probably don't require THAT great of a computer. The SNES emulator is more intensive than the Genesis one, though. For GBA games, you want a modern computer for optimal play. It doesn't have to be super good... just something made sometime this decade. N64 and arcade emulation are among the most resource intensive the site offers and as such, you need a REALLY good computer to play the higher end games without lag.

Also this is just to make the games playable. For emulators that offer speed keys, that speed key isn't going to work for you if you're just at the min requirements. You need to have a computer that's a good deal better.

The last note is that your computer runs best just after it finishes booting up. The longer is' been running and the more programs that have been opened (even if you've since closed them), the more your game is likely to lag.
