Two years after Ocarina of Time amazed Zelda fans across the globe, Nintendo released Majora's Mask, a promising game that would build off of Ocarina of Times style and engine, and yet introduce some stuff of it's own. Let's get started. The game begins in the familiar lost woods, Link is apparently looking for Nevi, his guardian fairy, given to him by the great deku tree. The game puts you in the action fast, as link is immediately attacked and falls off Epona. I like this sort of beginning, as it gets us right into the action of a stressful situation. Now it is one thing to knocked off your horse, its another thing to lose an important blue ocarina, but it is just bad when you get trans formed into (of all creatures) a deku shrub! The game continues to put under stress by giving you only three days to get your ocarina back. This actually introduces the new additions of the game that separate it from Ocarina of Time so much. Enough about the opening, let's talk about the game. Graphics: The graphics are wonderful, not only because of the more advanced textures than those of OOT, but the clarity that the emulator adds makes the graphics clean and clear. The game is definitely cartoonier than OOT, but it doesn't go overboard like Wind Waker. The blur animation is cool, it made a nice addition to the game. Sound: The sound is beautiful, the songs are often more stressful than most Zelda music but there are some epic songs as well, such as Ikana Castle, and the Majora theme. Ocarina notes and other sounds sound as they should. Since Time can be reset in this game, that means that Boses can be refought, dungeons redone, and side quests can be done again as well. You will not grow board with the game as you play through it. The addictiveness of the game is good. Story: the story at first appeared terrible it looked as if skull kid threw a fit, got a magic mask, and decided to make everyone in Termina pay for not playing with him. However the story turned out much better then that thankfully. The npcs are VERY well well done. I have not seen many games with character's like this.they even have schedules that they follow. Depth: the huge amounts of content,in the game there are Masks that you will want to collect, some of these masks are are quite useful, others on the other hand. . . you may only find one time in the whole game that it's useful. in this game you get transformation masks, these masks can turn link into other creatures in the game such as gorons or zoras, this might be fun for you , but found it too weird, mostly because of the way they were desined. Difficulty: The game is not to hard, but it is harder than most games nowadays. Don't worry about the 3-day time limit, just play the inverted song of time and you will have plenty of time to complete the dungeons. The side quests are challenging, they may take several times to beat, but they are tons of fun none the less. Overall: The game is definitely a different type of Zelda game but definitely a good one, the redoable dungeons and bosses are great additions to the game.10/10 Two years after Ocarina of Time amazed Zelda fans across the globe, Nintendo released Majora's Mask, a promising game that would build off of Ocarina of Times style and engine, and yet introduce some stuff of it's own.
