I really enjoyed playing Pokémon Leaf Green, it is an addictive, fun and enjoyable game and would recommend it to all of you. It is a remake of Pokémon Green (For the Game Boy) and they have done really well. Obviously it was going to be better than the original as the Game Boy Advance is (as its name suggests) a lot more advanced than the Game Boy.

Graphics - 8/10

The graphics are very good and I prefer them to Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire. However I also prefer them to the later released Pokémon Emerald for the in game play. On the other hand, the Pokémon sprites are quite inconsistent. For example the Pikachu sprite is huge, standing up and looks like it was from a few generations earlier.

Sound - 6/10

The weakest area of the game. I was very disappointed with the music while in areas which was not very impressive. The worst part was the noise the Pokémon make when you find them in the wild. HORRIFIC! On the flip side however, I did like the music in battles with Legendary Pokémon, but although it was good, nothing special.

Addictiveness - 9/10

The game is very addicting and I would definitely restart my file and play again. The gyms are fun and the variety of different Pokémon is also a big plus. At times I would get home and immediately turn on the laptop to play this and I'm sure you will do the same once quite far into the game. The only reason it is not ten is the sequence after the 7th gym (I won't tell you so I don't spoil it).

Story - 7/10

The story is good but not brilliant. Like all Pokémon games you are set of on your amazing journey to defeat all the gyms and become the Champion, however there are some bumps along the road. In this game your rival is Gary (or whatever you decide to call him) and you will battle him throughout the game in various locations. Also the evil Team Rocket are once again attempting to take over the world (or some such thing). Overall the story is good and I especially like the secret of the 8th gym (you'll have to find it out for yourself).

Depth 8/10

There is a lot to do in this game especially in the post game. The main game does not take that long to complete (if you know what your doing) however I have given this an 8 due to the number of Legendary Pokémon available. You can find Moltres, Articuno and Zapdos pretty easily however more are also available including Mewtwo and one of Raikou, Entei and Suicune (depending on your starter). Also the Battle Tower is a fun way to use up the day.

Difficulty 5/10

Not much to say really. Pretty easy to complete the game however some areas have a lot of trainers in them. The fact that I never lost a battle (which is quite rare) speaks for itself.

I have given this game a 9.1 and I know that does not reflect the average of all my scores however I do not believe they tell the whole story.

I do not play Pokémon Leaf Green but I do play Pokémon Fire Red and I chose Chamander as my first Pokémon and now he is a level 100 Charizard. I find these gym leader easy to beat because of the starter Pokémon that I chose. For me I wish the graphics would be a little better than that in the game.
