I think we all experienced this: We play a great game on a retro console, and when we want to buy it for our newer consoles, we only find out that there isn't a remake of that game.

Reply to this post if you played a really enjoyable (but old) game and why it should get its remake. Also say how you imagine that remake to look and play like

For example:

I like the game Balloon Fighter(NES) very much, and if you made it a 3D game with maybe more modes and online gameplay, it would still be great to play with today's standards

So go ahead, post titles of games which really need a good remake

I think that companies except for Activision and Nintendo don't do alot of remakes because of the time and money they put into it and spinning a wheel hoping some nostalgic gamers will buy it for the HD experience. When I see a remake I like I instantly think " Why buy it I already play/own the game and graphics aren't a big deal." if you really want to see smoother graphics then go ahead and buy it, but to keep it original and save you money keep on keepin on with the older game.

When you remake a old game you're competing with new games like Halo and COD so the demand of your game will only be a few curious buyers and like I said previously the people who have already played the game who will sacrifice their money for not a new game experience but just better graphics.

If they alter the story line and the weapons, armor, levels and characters then they actually remake it for the newer generation. You might as well put a 2 after the title and sell a completely different game that may hit off a series... I think I'm on to something!

But anyways I'll answer your question now lol. Don't laugh because it's something weird but I would love if they made The Lion King remade from the Sega Genesis into a better looking game with more platforming complexity and a variety of enemies to dodge and jump over. Weird right? Don't judge me.

I'd enjoy an Ice Climbers reboot. Not technically a remake but not really a new game as the original Ice Climbers didn't have much story and the gameplay leaves something to be desired. I guess I'd like them to take the Kid Icarus route and change the world into a 3D experience with references to the original game here and there. It'd be awesome to climb different mountains to get food for the village and mine rocks on the way up to trade for better equipment or something.

As for companies that do remakes, Sameel? These are just from the top of my head.
Capcom (all Resident Evil games until 4, all Street Fighter games ever, and most Megaman games)
Nintendo (Mario 64 DS, LoZ: OoT 3D, Star Fox 64 3D, Metroid: Zero Mission, Game & Watch Gallery, Yoshi's Island)
Konami (Most of the old Castlevanias, Metal Gear, Metal Gear Solid 1,2,3 and Peace Walker, and of course Silent Hill)
Square Enix (I don't even want to list how many came to mind)
Microsoft (Halo: Combat Evolved)
Sony (The Sly Cooper Franchise, The Jak and Daxter Franchise, The God of War Franchise, The Ico Franchise)
Rare (Conker's Bad Fur Day, Golden Eye, Diddy Kong Racing)
Valve (Black Mesa?)
Ubisoft (Prince of Persia, Rayman 2... Damn, that game is EVERYWHERE!)
Atlus (Most of the Shin Megami Tensei series, SMT: Persona 1, 2, 3, and  4, Disgaea 1, 2, and 3)
Namco (Half the Tales series, Pacman... just Pacman jeez, also every other thing that appears in the Namco Museum)

Many companies do many remakes. Remakes aren't bad if done well, most of them add extra content aside from shiny new graphics that make the experience more enjoyable for newcomers and worth the repurchase for people who already played the original, for example Mario 64 DS. Of course that doesn't stop some companies from doing poor remakes and just shoving the old game on to a new console with little to no changes. Kinda like the Sony HD collections that just make everything look brighter but don't add anything to the experience and Nintendo's 3D remakes so far that only add 3D effects and a major upgrade to the graphics.

I think that the first 3 Castlevania games should be completely remade. They could fix the stiff controls, they could make 2 easier to understand, and put the option to save.

Spyro the Dragon and Crash Bandicoot. I grew up with these games and would totally buy them if remade. Just remade, nothing changed. I wouldn't mind added stuff, but I would like to keep things like Aku Aku as a piece of board and not an actual mask like it was in later Crash games, and Keep Sparx the Dragonfly silent.
