I would like more multi-player Zelda games, ones were we could play as characters other than Link.

Here's what I thought of:

In the game you would choose a map to battle on, different maps would have unique features.
Then you choose a character, like, let's say Gannondorf. At this point your opponent chooses a character.
You both spawn at different places on the map. (Let's just say you chose Hyrule Field as the map).
Now, what's the objective now that you're here? Destroy your opponent!
You both travel the field, natural enemies will attack both of you on occasion and you will have to fight them of,
and when you finally reach each other you will do battle using each characters special abilities.
Several favorite places from the Zelda series could be put in the game, such as Stone Tower Temple, Hyrule Castle,
Lake Hylia, and Gerudo Valley, it would be so much fun.

I think that would only be cool if there were certain challenges that only two people could do.  If there were not any challenges, it would be pointless to have 2 players.

I also think there should be challenges. But there should be a story. Like you and Zelda can team up to end Gannon once and for all.

I was thinking more along the lines of two player combat against each other, not co-op, that's what I meant in the first place anyway.

I would like it if such a game was mostly based off of Majora's Mask and Ocarina of Time.

Sword legion : Depends.  If there is an option, it has to be so you absolutely have to have 2 people and not just one.  The other way would be fine as well.

OK I'm not much for co-op, I like competition much more.

I think that would rock. The simple weapon to weapon battles with bosses and mini bosses in this series is absolutely epic as far as my experience goes. I mean the other bosses are fine, but there's nothing like a good old duel, be it sword or bow.

I think zelda does need multiplayer. It could be mini games or co op in story mode. That would make the series much better.

earthwarrior : Yes, I actually got the idea from the 2-player battle mode that is featured in Sonic Adventure 2 Battle.
There should be enough characters spanning across the series, they should take a few bosses like Odalwa (the first boss from Majora's Mask),
or the epic minibosses, iron knuckle, darknut, and dark link. Maybe even the seven sages should playable. Could someone hack 
Ocarina of Time and make a game like this? I saw a gameshark code that allows you to play as dark link in the Temple of Time. By the way, nice signature.
