I think that the creator(s) of this game did a good job of re-creating levels from Super Mario Bros. on the NES, ripping graphics from New Super Mario Bros. on the Nintendo DS, and transforming it into New Retro Mario Bros. I think that this was a GENIUS idea for a Super Mario World hack. I'll start talking about the graphics now.

The graphics in this game are very impressive, because almost every single thing in this game is re-textured in New Super Mario Bros. style. There are also very creative backgrounds too. They're easier to see when you grab the flag and walk your way out of the level. The whole screen gets really dark and you can PERFECTLY see the background (I've taken a couple of screenshots that you can view to see what I'm talking about). Also, the text was slightly changed. It's really colorful, especially when the screen gets dark.

Now, let's move on to the music. Most of the music in this game is from New Super Mario Bros. The creator(s) of this game had to remix lots of the songs from New Super Mario Bros. into a Super Mario World hack. The music is really impressive. I'll give you a couple of examples.

The very first level in this game has new music (it's the same theme that plays in the first level of New Super Mario Bros!). When I heard that familiar tune in level 1, I just KNEW this game was going to be good.

In the first level of world 2, the music is the theme used in the first level of Super Mario Land (in case you've never heard of it, it's a game for the Game Boy that is similar in a way to Super Mario Bros. for the NES). I couldn't help but smile when I heard this theme. It sounds so awesome in a Super Mario World hack!

In the second level of world 4, the music is the theme used in "Hazy Maze Cave" in Super Mario 64! WHOA!

Now, I'll talk about some other random stuff that makes this game good.

In the last level of every world, Bowser is waiting for you at the end, just like in the original Super Mario Bros. There is a switch waiting for you behind Bowser. I guess the creator(s) of this game couldn't make it an axe, but it's still good.

After you press the switch that gets rid of the bridge that Bowser is standing on, he falls into the lava. You press this weird green orb to automatically walk to victory.

After you start walking automatically, Toad is waiting for you. There is a speech bubble above him that says, "THANK U!" Then, you unlock a pipe that warps you to the next world.
