I have played both versions,my PS3 and my friends PC, and I saw that PC gamers got the better end of the deal. PC gamers can have up to 64 players in a match, while PS3 only gets 24. Thats a big difference. Is there a way to have 64 people on the PS3? that would make it much better, or at least 32 people.

PCs can handle it. PCs generslly have a lot better specs than consoles so it can physically handle more players on screen and it won't suffer from nearly as much lag or crashes.

Completely reasonable explanation. I would accept it more, if the PS3 version didn't crash during a great match with 8 people on each team. Also, I'm pretty sure that if you lowered certain settings in terms of visual quality, you could have more room for more players

It's not a PS3 limit. MAG had 256 player matches. That game was heavily optimized for PS3. I'd guess Battlefield is likely optimized for PC. The PS3 and 360 may not be able to handle the bigger maps either. Shouldn't really be too much of an issue though. I'm sure there are some technical reasons behind it.

MichaelVash7886 : Like you said the maps are a lot bigger and Battlefield 3's graphics are so much better than MAGs. You have more control of the vehicles and planes as well and the environment changes and can be destroyed. All of these put stress on computers and if you put to much stuff on one screen it'll crash. PCs are just so much better right now, consoles are in a real need of a new generation change so they can keep up. Right now PS3 and the 360s specs are just so outdated, they surely wouldn't be able to support the same quality gaming as the PC. Developers can do so more working with higher spec machines and we can see a lot better graphics, better environments and bigger multiplayer servers.

It's also that with consoles they aren't built for such a big player count.
