so one day I thought it would be nice to go ahead and look up and play fire emblem and fire emblem sacred stones. Its a fun strategy game kind of like shining force but the weapons in the game have a durability. Money isn't handed out in the first game so I kind of got tight on cash trying to keep all my allies supplied. However in sacred stones they put a new mechanic in which is the free roam map. Its nothing like skyrim but more on the lines of super Mario, where you can go back to an old level and play it. The catch is, that it has monsters on the map where you can fight to gain exp and cash if I'm correct. The in game game play with the cut scenes where done well for a GBA game. It has an emotional flavor that makes you cringe each time you get hit or that over powered feeling when you hit the enemy. The fighting mechanic is questionable but works very well. Like shining force you move your character over to the enemy and select the attack button. You choose the weapon you want to hit them with and a cut scene comes up showing the enemy and you. Catch is, every character counter attacks. So if you have 4 hp and you don't kill the enemy that character is dead. Although I dislike the fact that in fire emblem, the second story had a mechanic where if someone died they are gone for good. No coming back to life, you lost the character forever. As for the final boss against him I was pretty much powerless. You can only attack him with the weapons you got from the mini-bosses that spawned and the weapons that was given to you through the story line. As for me I had a lot of fun with the game. When Eliwoods dad died at the end sacrificing himself to save his son from the dark mage (forgot his name :/) I had to take a moment, look at the screen, and mourn his death with No's. All in all a good game with a good way to make the mind work itself going should I do this or should I move over there to avoid getting hit so my healer can heal me. The maps in the game where well done too. Another one of the mechanics in the game where houses, armories, general shops, and an arena. They only showed up on certain maps which made it hard to re supply as to the story moved on after the quest is complete. The houses or villages could be blown up by bandits. This made it valuable to go in them so they didn't get blown up and you also got an extra item. Most bosses within the quest usually sat there while you gather your people and healed up which was a useful thing to exploit. Within the quests there was a possibility of getting a new character from an event that happens within the quest. Weather it was from searching in a house or maybe throwing your guy up there and talking to them. This is my review there are many unlike it but this one is mine.
