Ace Combat 04 Shatter Skies is the fourth installment of the Ace Combat series. This game have to have my favorite ace of the game series. The game was made in 2001 for the PlayStation 2., and was the first game of the series to be on the PlayStation 2. The cover of the game have a F/A-22 Raptor in front of it, so his main plain plane of the game going to be that plane. The series usually put the main character plane on the front cover. Now it is time for the review. The game play is still the same as the pass. It just like an arcade with infinite life, but not health. You also start from the beginning of the mission if you get shot down.

The graphics of the game was amazing for a 2001 game. The airplane of the game is look very good at the time. Every part of the plane move when you move it. The cut scene of the game are little different from I used to. The cut scene are just picture and the narrator of the story speak in it. So I going to give the graphics of the game a 9/10.

The music is just god dam amazing at it time. The music make go into the zone. It always make the game sound better and more intense. The missile alert sound still can be annoying if the enemy constantly shoot missile at you all the time. The voice actor of the game sound great for it time. I shall give this section a 10/10.

The game is very addicting to play, because of the classic arcade game play. You will be playing this game for a long time if you like this type of games. Even when you stop playing this game, you will come back and play this game. This section deserved a 10/10.

The story is a difficult to understand at first. The story heavily involved the enemy ace squadron leader Yellow 13, a little boy, a girl, and you the ace pilot of the game. The cut scene usually involved the little boy, the girl, and Yellow 13. You come into the cut scene once you beat some of the later mission. The story is great, but want to know the whole story you have to play the whole game yourself to know. Here the short version of it. Yellow 13 killed the boy parents by shooting down an enemy plane, and the plane crashed down onto his house.  During sometime after that you become an ace (shoot down five planes) after your first mission. The boy live with his uncle, but his uncle went to jail. So now he sleep in a bar. Yellow 13 and his squadron hang out the bar every time in the story. The girl is the bartender daughter, As the story progress he grew a crushed on the bartender daughter. Then you shoot down Yellow 13 wingman (Yellow 4). After a couple mission you shoot down Yellow 13, before on the last mission.  That is all I have to say about the story. I giving the story a 10/10.

The game still offer a lot for it time. There are 18 mission in total so the game is short, but will take you multiple play through to just to unlock everything, then buy it. It took about 48 hours of total game time to collect everything. I going to give the depth a 8/10.

The difficult could depend on the difficulty you choose on. If you choose on the easiest one then you going to have a very easy time. Choose on normal or hard you still have a easy time unless you suck at the game. If you going to play on the hardest difficulty you are really going have a hard time trying not to get hit by a missile especially if they are constantly firing missile at you the whole time. The only thing that might give you the hard time beside the difficulty is the Yellow Squadron. They are sometimes really annoying to shoot down, and it is 1 vs 5. You are the one. So I going to give the difficulty a 7/10.

Overall the game is really good to play. The game have a great story line that you will never fully know unless you check out the game play and cut scene of the game. Like I said you will come back to this game one day. I think this game deserved a 9.5/10.
