Vizzed has many excellent retro games in its RGR as we all know... and they all work off of common emulators and their ROMs. Now I noticed that the save data (both the actual SRAM and the save states) get saved to your computer when created as well as being stored on the site's server. If you wanted to, you could load up the ROMs in the same emulator Vizzed uses and should be able to load that save data and pick up your game where you left off. But what about the other way around? I have a lot of games that I started on offline and would be interested in migrating to Vizzed... problem is, I don't want to start these games over from the beginning. So wouldn't it be awesome to be able to somehow upload your current saves in your slot for the game on Vizzed? Assuming the save data you have is the same format and for the same exact ROM, anyway...

I'm not sure this is something that's even possible, but I would love the ability to do this as I could resume progress in the games I already started on.

The save files created with the Plugin actually aren't stored on the site's server anymore. Java based save files are though.

This would be possible if your save file is renamed to the Vizzed's rom file name. The save states for some of the emulators will need the file extension renamed, but the native saves would probably have the same file extension.

I'm not sure of the possibility of having a site uploader for this, however when the Plugin is installed, with it is installed a plugin data folder that stores the save files. You could transfer any save file to there and load it in the RGR.

Go to Start Menu > All Programs > Vizzed Retro Game Room > Open Plugin Data Folder > User-"your ID". The saves will be in sub folders for each of the system folders.

tRIUNE : I suspected that may be the case and already tried putting some of my save files in the folder... but the RGR seemed to ignore them.

I was using GBA games as a test... Fire Emblem - The Sacred Stones. I launched the game so that it would generate a .sav file with the proper name. I then moved over the .sav file I already had for this game (created by VBA) into the folder and renamed the file to match identically. When I launched again, it failed to recognize any existing data and acted as if it were a fresh file. I also tried a VBA save state (.sgm) with the identical naming convention used by RGR's version. I hit F4 and it gave me an error message, saying it couldn't load the save state.

I also tried this process with Mega Man Battle network in case the Fire Emblem case was a fluke. I received the same results on this game.

I might try with other systems later, but I'm not sure if I'll have any better luck there.

Also, are you sure that Plugin saves aren't on the server at all? I'm pretty sure I've played the same game on my laptop as my PC and worked off the same save file. It resumed the game as if I was playing from the same computer all along. That's what made me think everything was web-based.

I'm not sure if the native save will be transferable for all games but the save states should.

I just tested this with a save state from 2215 - Fire Emblem - The Sacred Stones (E)(Rising Sun) and renamed the state to the file name in the RGR Fire Emblem - The Sacred Stones (Europe) (En,Fr,De,Es,It) and it loaded.

If the save file is from US region rom it won't load on a Europe version, that could be what happened for you.

That seems odd that you would be able to load a save from Vizzed's server, as far as I know they aren't stored on the server anymore. There was a thread made about that a while ago:

Yeah, I figured my Fire Emblem issue was due to having the US version. That's why I tried Mega Man Battle Network. Is that also European? It didn't indicate that it was, so I had assumed that this time it was the US version and thus matched my ROM.

I might have to keep trying to see if I can get any save files to actually be recognized by the plugin. Maybe my next day off, I'll fiddle with that.
