bobq :

For some reason, I thought Halladay was on the Phillies in 2008. Turns out he wasn't, so it's kind of surprising, hasn't been there as long as I thought.

I'd rather he doesn't win a World Series if he stays with the Phillies. There are 4 teams in the Majors that I hate beyond reconcilliation. The Yankees and Rays (Division Rivals), the Phillies (I hate pretty much EVERYTHING in Pennsylvania, but it's cool, since I was born there.) and the St. Louis Cardinals (no matter what you say, I can't like them. 9 years out of 10, they are the only good team in a s*** division. Luckiest team in baseball. And some of the most arrogant fans too).

So yeah, until he goes to a good team, hope he never wins one.

-----

Crazy Li :

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has noticed that. The Giants are the best team in the NL West, don't get me wrong, but that's not an endorsement. That's just to say how weak it is as a whole. The only other team in the NL West worth a lick this season were the Dodgers, and well... I am just saying that while they'll be favorites next year, they are going somewhere the Phillies are now. A rebuilding team that is trying to save itself from their horrible contracts. As a Red Sox fan, I say thank you to the Dodgers. They saved us.

I also didn't see the Phillies making the playoffs, I actually had the Nationals winning the division (how about that, I was right!) and the Marlins winning the wild card (I could not have been more wrong. I assumed the team wouldn't absolutely suck.)

Te third match between the Detroit Tigers and the Oakland Athletics just begin. I just hope that the Oakland Athletics could win the next three games against them.

That trade was really too bad.

Boston was in shambles, and now they have a chance to get back to dominance quicker.

Why can't the dam Blue Jays get better that fast.

Phillies will be chasing a wild card spot, so they may slip in, but they won't win the division.

1-0 Oakland so far

bobq :

Because they don't have anything worth trading that they are willing to trade.

For Boston to dump Crawford, Beckett, and Punto, they had to give up Adrian.

The only way the Blue Jays could get more payroll room in a trade like that, is if they included something like Edwin Encarnacion or Jose Bautista. Since they don't need money, they should be fine. They have a good farm system, so they should really just wait, and let their free agents walk when the time comes.

Go Athletics. Would like to see them comeback.

Well... the Giants avoided a sweep. Even if they lose the series now, they won't look entirely pathetic. Oakland just might avoid a sweep in their series as well, but it's not over yet. I kinda wanted to see them get swept... but that's because San Fransisco fans kinda have to root against Oakland :p

The Gaints are just killing the Reds today. I have always thought how the Reds would react if they lost a game; this is a completely different Reds team that I know. Also GO O'S!!!

I'm just glad the orioles, Athletics and Nationals made it this year (who knew that a few years ago we still made fun of the Natinals?)
As far as teams in the West for a while the Diamondbacks were pretty good, I don't know why they went back down the drain, but hopefully for a stronger West they come back.  The Central is just to streaky if you ask me.  Pittsburgh looked like the team to beat, but the streak came to an end.   St. Louis as much as you might hate them have the most World Series wins of the National League with 11.  Not as impressive as New York, but to be second all time in World Series wins is something.  Whether lucky or not it happened somehow.   Go Cinncy, Go Oakland, Go O's, and Go Nat's! Go to the LCS this year and take out the Yank's and Card's! we need something fun to look forward to this fall classic!

Deadman9001 : Not looking to good for your Nat's. Your down 2-1 against the Cardinals today and the Cards only need 1 more game to clinch a berth to the NLCS. Good luck thou, I'll be routing for them.

Wow the Giants won today game with a score of 8-3. I thought the home team are going to win today, but the Giants just prove me wrong today.

It is funny how after 1 game, a team can look amazing, and you think, this team could sweep. Now, it looks like all the series will go the distance. Funny how that happens. No one can clinch tonight since the Reds lost.

Oh and by the way, apparently Detroit will throw out Verlander in game 5, if the series gets that far.

I'm hoping that Jim Thome will hit a home run in this series. He is a quality player who deserves to be in the hall of fame.

Oh and Flarity hit a home run so Oriels are up 1 - 0.

Oriels have a grimey  record this year in Yankee Stadium.

.304 avg, 14 home runs, 5.4 runs a game.

That's how you beat the Yankees.

bobq : I believe Detriot is up 2-1 on the A's. And since its a 5 game series, Detriot needs 1 game to win the series and head to the ALCS.

To be fair, the Cardinals shouldn't even be here. I firmly believe that had the umpires not disrupted the game with that horribad call, you'd be seeing Nationals-Braves right now. Momentum plays an important role in baseball, and it can't be overstated how badly the umps screwed the Braves in that game.

-----

Wish the Nationals the best of luck in the next two games. Playing at home though, should give them a little boost. You can't win every game at home obviously, but I hope that game was a speedbump.

The Giants might beat the Reds... which is nice. I'd like it if the Giants beat the Reds, since I'm rooting for the Nationals. If you asked me which team I'd rather face, I'd rather face the Giants 99 times out of 100. The Reds scare me much more as a baseball team.

O's-Yankees game tonight, in a crucial game. I think whoever wins tonight will win the series. It's hard to be a road team and win 2 out of 3 at Yankee Stadium, but winning the first game will definitely go a long way to doing just that. It's tied right now, so it's still anyone's game.

A's-Tigers tonight... and I think the A's have a little magic in them left. I've been wrong before of course, but I like the feeling in the air tonight. Usually at least 1 of the 4 teams I want to win a playoff game usually win, and so far, I'm kind of shut out. I mean the Giants beat the Reds, but that series is of little consequence right now. Still the least exciting series of the bunch. Which is ironic, since it's the only one that's definitely going 5 games.

So, it's Loshe v. some guy I never heard of from the Nationals tomorrow.
I'm feeling good about this one.
I really hope the Reds lose to the Giants so if the Cardinals win, they have an easier match up.
I think it might be time to activate Stephen Strausberg if the Nationals want to win this year.

Mobouis1 : Soxfan said that posting scores or repeated comments about what has happened in the game is a little spammy. I'm not saying that your post about what is happening in Detriot vs Oakland is spam, if anything I'm glad to know that it has started. Just try to avoid posting similar posts so that way you don't get DQ'd or banned for spam.

Also I'm very nervous about the outcome of the O's vs Yanks game very close. Also A-Rod is really terrible this series.

I hope you are joking.

How can you not know Ross Detwiler?

He's not all that bad, and I think it's silly few people know about him.

First round pick in 2007, tall lefty, good arm slot... he's also a sinkerball pitcher.

Honestly, if anyone matches up against the Cardinals, it could be him.

Plus, it's in Washington. It's still a series. I wouldn't count them out just because the Cards are starting Lohse (who is due for a poor start any day now.)

legacyme3 :   I don't follow anything from the Nationals club.  All I know is that you have two extremely great pitchers (Gonzalez and Strausberg) and a great former catcher (Harper) and a few other good position players.  I do not follow them as much as I would the Cardinals or the White Sox.
