I remeber they were going to do something with the Mother series not sure what but its not a Mother 4 that for sure check starmen.net for more details about it.

I don't think we need an earthbound remake. What we need is another addition to the series. Mother 3 and earthbound were fantastic games, make another Nintendo.

After doing 20 seconds of research, I have concluded that it is not even a remake, just a Virtual Console port.  So yeah, still just Mother 2.  It's supposed to cost a whopping 30 yen.

(Wii U is a new console, so Mother fans will buy the Japanese version of it even though they have an English version. That plus the cost of Earthbound would be about 26,289 yen)

After observing some Starman(dot)net forums, there appears to be a siege on Miiverse about localisation.? I don't have a Wii U, but it would be a major victory for the fanbase.? That said, it will be irritating to Japanese players who want to post about the game finding that 95% of the posts in the community are complaints about localising the game.

Sorry everyone, but there are some bad news about Earthbound. There is an article about people asking the creator of Earthbound about making a remake or a sequel. He answers them with one word, "impossible."  Apparently the franchise is dead as to what he says. However, Earthbound characters will still be in the smash brothers games.  But I am still keeping my fingers crossed for this to happen. Here is some good news. Earthbound on the SNES will be available on the Wii U soon. I hope they do that with the 3DS too.
