Well, time for another game to be reviewed. "Spongebob: Creatures From The Krusty Krab". Finally, another review. Another review will be up for my 13th birthday special. This is a happy early birthday review.
There are 3 systems this game was released on, the Wii, PS2, and Xbox 360. Since I only got the Wii version and a replacement disc after the other disc got scratched, the Wii version will be reviewed. All versions are like the same, if correct. The usual how to play comes first: Spongebob was in a dream where in a bubble, it looks as if he is dreaming of flying a airplane. Spongebob then slowly wakes up and somehow his bed turns into a hot rod car and it smashes through his house. He is then in a solo race where he transforms into a really scary face and has to complete two laps. In the game, you first control Spongebob and you have to grab Z's, avoid obstacles, attack bad guys, and sometimes, you have to use a attack to push heavy stuff around. There is no Z's cap in a level, you can find sleepy seeds which if you collect all the Patrick or plankton sleepy seeds, something happens. Later in the game, you then take the role of Patrick Star, then Plankton. You can take 5 hits until you die, but there is no life counter, so there is no Game Over condition, just like in Finding Nemo for Game Cube, and the Playstation 2, Kirby's Epic Yarn for the Wii, and 2 different spongebob games... *shrugs* The no Game Over plague has spread to spongebob. What's next, Mario??? Never mind. Graphics. Rating: 10/10 First off, the textures seem good, it fits perfect with spongebob, I meant the background, but the floor is like the sand of a beach, and the walls seem good. Feels like watching spongebob all over again. Great textures. Next, the characters. Has the regular graphics, but not the anime kind of graphics. Graphics for characters seem ok, and copying the design of the characters and convert them into a wii game made them look kind of more real. This may be true. I only had to take 2 points for... Never mind, it is perfect. Sounds. Rating: 4/10 First off, take a look at the voice acting without the face emotions FIRST. The voicing seems pretty good, especially Spongebob's voicing after he first loses his license. Sounds emotional and drama, but spongebob's voicing is really good. Now let's take a look at the face emotions. The only problem with this, spongebob's face emotion never EVER changes, he always smiles when talking, even when he loses his license or screaming because he got inside a huge worm. The sounds lose 2 points for that. It made me start swearing just because his facial expression doesn't change. That is my MOST hated problem of all time. Nintendo! Is this a glitch or intentional because I will smash a keyboard on you just like what the Angry German Kid did with his after losing in Unreal Tournament. Just for that, I take 3 points off for lacking facial expressions. Let me say this, but I want to be clear with this... What were they thinking!? Why did they screw that up!? That is like the only game with this problem. So minus 1 point for that complaint. I forgot, the music. Original music that I never heard of in a spongebob episode or game. No minus for music. Addictiveness/Gameplay. Addictive rating: 6/10 Gameplay rating: 5/10 11 divided by 2 = 5.5 Real rating: 5.5 (Since I can't choose 5.5, the addict rating is 6 rounding up.) Meh, the addictiveness isn't high enough to suit some gamers around America. It loses 4 points for: - Making levels split into long parts. (-2) - Button mashing to stop the train in the second section of level 2. (-1) It is a horrible gaming clitché. (-1) Now for the gameplay part. Good gameplay, but it isn't the kind of game I would pick. Minus 5 on gameplay for: - Never seen stuff in the show. (-2) - Almost cryptic secrets. (-1) - Too hard to find all the sleepy seeds without looking for a cheat code for all sleepy seeds. (-1) - Some frustration, but increases at level 6 to the max. (-1) Depth. Rating: 7/10 All it is, just 9 levels filled with long and frustration moments. Nothing else to say. Story. Rating: 7/10 Seems original. The story was that in the Bikini Bottom, spongebob and Patrick were sleeping in a mysterious world of dream. Spongebob slowly wakes up and finds himself accelerating fast and crashing out of the house. He says that his bed was modified into a hot rod racing machine. But as much as I hate to say, seems good, but it's so confusing how a bed can be transformed without any effort at all. Who knows? Minus 3 for that. Difficulty. Rating: 8/10 First, it starts off easy, but then at level 2, it ramps a bunch. Level 3 turns it down, level 4 raises it a lot. Level 5 is tricky trying to keep your fuel, but level 6 is the biggest difficulty ramp. Level 7 decreases it a little, level 8 slowly goes harder between every part. The final level, is slightly harder than the first level's race without any opponents. So, big chart. Overall. Rating: 6.6/10 Well, although parts of the game are good, this game is only for those who really want to try this. Well that wraps up another review from a upcoming birthday to yours truly, Stevie 764. There will be a review on my birthday if I can get time to make and finish one in time for the teen special.
