Hmm? That's odd, I have never heard anything of the sort.

Back in 2005 there was a big hub-bub that I remember when they released scenes from FFVII using PS3 graphics, ergo everyone thought an update was being made for the Playstation 3, however nothing came out of that because that wasn't really the intention. Never heard anything official (was the rumor just fan-made?) although to this day people are still making rumbling noises about a remake in this generation.

I really doubt they would make it for the GBA.
I mean really?
Its on playstation 1, for the original game
Playstation 2, dirge of cirburis, however you spell it, that has vincent valentine's story
PSP, crisis core, which takes place with Zack Fair, and how the story begins
and they are remaking Final Fantasy 7 for the playstation 3.

it would be easy to put this game on the DS, and even easier to put on the DSi.
the DS has enough power to run this if ported directly from the psx files with minor tweaking, and with the DSi's extra ram boosting capabilities they can even update the graphics.

the thing is you have all played it, theres no need for them to release the same game you have all played before.
square-enix should focus on porting more 360 games to the ps3 so that sony can get back on top where it belongs.

Thats very true the DSi has alot more power then The GBA but at the time the idea was awesome especially for someone like me who just finished the original and wanted more not to mention the DS wasn't even out yet so the GBA was best choice for "Pocket Gamers"

While the idea of making the game a direct port to something or other is nice, the developers (or at least one of them, it was in a podcast on FFVII that I listened to once) stated that if it would ever be done, it would have to be a full overhaul.

And they ARE making a PS3? All I've heard was rumors.

supposedly they are doing it after the completion of FFXIII FFVERUSXIII and the other XIII games. But news says that Tetsuya won't work on the game himself the crew at Square is just going to take the original add Advent children graphics and add an alternate story to if Aeris lived and a backwards story to play as Sephiroth trying to destroy the earth.

Dosen't the DSi and DS have the same graphics?
and DS is like a portable N64; it could run the playstation one probalby, but not a remade one.

And at the end of crisis core, it shows the beginning of Final Fantasy 7 for the ps3.

the DSi is a higer spec portable then the DS

DS
Media Nintendo DS Game Card
CPU One 67 MHz ARM946E-S and one 33 MHz ARM7TDMI
Storage capacity Cartridge save, 4 MB tRAM
Connectivity Wi-Fi

DSi
Media Nintendo DS Game Card, Secure Digital card (SD card)
CPU 133 MHz ARM processor
Storage capacity Cartridge save
256 MB internal flash memory
SD card
Connectivity Wi-Fi (with WPA and WPA2 support)

the DS and DSi use ram as a graphics boost, and with a much higher CPU and the option to use the SD as a ram boost it can theoretically run gpu processing alot faster.

and no, the DS is more like a PSX, with its CPU power on par with the PSX CPU, a MIPS R3000A running at 33.8688 MHz.

also just because Crisis Core showed an updated intro for FF7 means nothing but its an updated intro.
but knowing how this fayboy-ism is it probally will be milked for all it has.
