Guess what time it is!Today is Iridion day a day we will never see again since there are only 2 games in the series.If you don't know what Iridion is let me fill you in on it.Iridion was a game made by Shin'en and was in development for the Gameboy color,but scarped it and moved to the Gameboy Advance and planned it as a launch title.It was marketed as a 3D game while it was never even real 3D just a technique to make 2D graphics look 3D.A lot of critics bashed this game and received a lot of 5's.Well today I'm going to give a true verdict since it seems critics never can review a game the right way.Also Iridion 2 will be up today too and shooters don't have a lot to them so this will be quite short.Now on to the Review!

Graphics:As I said the graphics are not really 3D it's just a technique.The only real time 3D graphics here is the menu and the Game over screen.Still it looks good and really looks 3D if you hold the system farther.Also stage effects look so good it makes me want a 3DS remake or version of it.{9}

Sound:The sound is very good too and just as good as the graphics.The music is catchy and goes well with the gameplay like most shooters.Also the reason there was enough memory in the cartridge for the graphics is because they used the GAX Engine to put the music in small folders leaving a large amount of space for the graphics.It sounds complicated,but at least it wasn't compressed.{9}

Addictivenessorry,but I don't find much replayabilty here.The only reason to even replay the game is to get the password to see the Art gallery by beating the game on hard mode.Still someone nowadays can look up the code and see it and it's not really not that much of a reward considering how unforgiving this game is.Also the Game only has 7 stages and 7 bosses that are presented in wire frames before you fight them.{5}

Story:The story of the game is:The Iridion invades Earth without warning and want to take over the surface and lay mines and bombs in the pacific ocean to you know blow it up and of course it's you to pilot your ship and defeat the iridion............Sounds good enough for a space shooter,but a least make it different like they did with Star-X.{7}

Depth:This game is shallow king of shalowness.This game has about as much content as galaga.What I'm basically saying this game feels too much like an arcade game and that's fine,but I feel like it doesn't have enough content to justifies the purchase.While it doesn't matter nowadays since you can get this game for like a dollar like I did Imagine back then paying 20-40-60 dollars for a short game like this.While they did fix this in the sequel I have to mention it.{3}

Difficulty:Remember when I say that this game was unforgiving.Well it is and the reason is because you start off with 5 lives and for some reason I always lose all of them when I get to the first boss.Some of you might think I just suck,but this game is hard and I mean hard The reason is because the lives you have are for the whole game unless you get an extra life of course.This alone is what makes the difficulty high.Still If you're a pro at shooters you should breeze through it easily.{8}

Overall:I know some of you think I'm bashing the game,but I really think this a average shooter,but it can be forgiven of it's flaws since it's the first in the series and is one of the first GBA games.This game can be easily recommended to anyone who likes this genre with it's extremely low price.Next I'll be reviewing the sequel.Review Finished.
