As some may remember, I reviewed Saint's Row 2 the other week. I recently decided to play both that and the Third, and decide which was better once and for all. This is a Leggy Review.

Graphics - 8

The graphics are beautiful compared to those in 2, which shouldn't be a surprise... as such, I graded this based on similar games in recent times. I decided to call them above average, but defintely not a 10. There was enough scenery that I felt like it was a complete packaged, beautiful looking game. The city was not boring for me, and I legit enjoyed every second in Steelport.

Sound - 9

This is a push. 2 and the Third had equally good soundtracks. And unlike in 2, all the songs in the Third are available right away. I like the choices of music better, although there is a little less variety I feel. As such, this gets a solid 9 from me. Same as 2.

Addictiveness - 10

I played this game from the moment I opened the case to the moment I got the platinum trophy. I never put another game in. (except for 5 seconds to play another game while my internet was out... damn online trophies.) The fact I actually enjoyed every second of this game is one of my main reasons I loved this game more than the second. The gameplay was still wacky, and the controls not sucking helped keep me sucked in.

Depth - 8

Really, this game is about as deep as 2. So why did I give it a higher rating?

I can give you a few quick reasons. Whored mode. (horde mode). Online. More in depth character customization.

That's just the reasoning why it was pushed over 2. In general, there's a little less diversions and activities, but in all, it's still a very complete game, that takes just as long to beat as 2.

Story - 9

Unlike 2. Saint's Row the Third did something. This something was provide an interesting dynamic robust, crazy story. One that is neither possible or reasonable, yet funny, and genuine. It felt like what Saint's Row has been aspiring to be. And I don't mean it lightly. The first part of the game (with your custom character... not the tutorial) has you skydiving, and flying through a plane. WHILE IT IS FLYING. The middle of the story is easily lost to some people, but it picks up at the end with a good clean finish that makes enough sense for me. At least in the SR universe.

Difficulty - 1

Even on the harder difficulties, this is one of the easiest games I have ever played. Which is a real let down. Anyone seeking a challenge won't get it here. The game play is too easily toned down. Once you steal your first tank, you could easily plow through the game... even without a tank, the enemies are easy enough to take down, and you shouldn't die too much. An easier control scheme also helped, but I don't know how much.

This was also the easiest platinum I have ever gotten. Easier than finding 100 feathers in Assassin's Creed 2. Easier than winning 37 times with Edge in WWE 12. Easier than getting all the Daedric Weapons in Skyrim. And easier than 5 starring every case in LA Noire. There is not one trophy on the basic list that gave me any trouble.

Needless to say, because of the difficulty, I will not be getting any of the DLC for this game. No matter how tempting it is. Unless it somehow is free. Which it isn't.

Overall - 8.5

I enjoyed this game a lot more than 2. But a big hurt on this games overall score was the difficulty. If it was as hard as 2, then this would have gotten a 9. That's really the only fault I saw with this game. The gameplay was fun. The characters were funny. The customization was easy. The controls didn't suck. There's really no way I can speak ill of this game EXCEPT of the difficulty.

Those seeking a challenge, find another game. Those seeking 30 hours of blowing s*** up and wacky gameplay, give this a try.
