This is by far my favorite game of the Final Fantasy series. What I think truly makes this game special is the storyline. The player feels like they are alongside Cecil while he faces the regrets of his past and overcomes the darkness that he has embraced. Here is a little of my insight on each part of the game.

Graphics(9): I was a fan of the SNES version, so these graphics on the gameboy advance are fine.I think the characters running is much to fast, but that is just a minor complaint. The graphics live up to the final fantasy standard of the time.

Sound(10): This game had some of the most memorable soundtracks out of any video games I have ever played. I especially like the boss battle theme and the overworld theme. The sound effects of all the spells and events are also enticing. You couldn't ask for anything more here.

Addictiveness(8): This is where the game can get a little weak. While you want to continue following the story, the random battles become very boring. In the beginning there are several random encounters loaded with enemies that are only effected by magic. This becomes insanely annoying and makes the fights boring and almost never-ending. The story also losses a big part of its epicness after Cecil becomes a Paladin.  If you can hold through an almost empty gap of story after that, the game continues to get better and better.

Story(10): Here is the game's bread and butter. This is one of my favorite video game stories of all time. You have a dark knight that is finally able to object to his master's awful demands, and then becomes a rebel. He must face the evil things he did under his king's name and must overcome all of it. I do not want to ruin any more of it for those that have not played, but trust me on this one.

Depth(8): The game is very large, but can become somewhat boring at times. The random encounters become one big blur and you are left wanting to go straight to bosses.

Difficulty(6): I would call this a standard difficulty rpg. There are a few hard boss fights, but they almost all have an obvious weakness. The encounters are not hard, they just become very tedious. This is an rpg that anyone can pick up and play.

Overall(9): Despite some of the tedious aspects of this game, it is still one of my favorites of all times. Anyone that loves rpgs and deep story-lines should check this game out right away!
