Eat Dirt!

There are many kind of heroes in the Video Game world... Since a pink Puffball that can suck everything and use their powers against his enemies, to a pair of plumbers that live in a kingdom and rescue a princess. So, In those days, it wasn't weird see a Worm as a hero... That worm had a name: Jim, Earthworm Jim. This game originally appeared first on the Sega Genesis... And then it was ported to multiple systems... The SNES was one of these systems. And today, we're gonna focus on this version.

Story: Jim used to be a normal worm, that used to do Worm things, such as dig and escape from the Crows... Until, one day, A Cyber Space Suit fell over him, Luckily, Jim managed to enter in the suit before it could squash him, once inside, the suit Muted him into a super worm with Super strength and Not-so-Super intelligence... A few days later, he hears that the Queen Slug-for-a-butt is planning to conquer the Universe, but that's not everything... He also hears that the real Queen of Buttville, Princess What's-her-name (the sister of Slug for a butt) is held captive, then, Jim decides to stop the Evil queen, save the universe and rescue the princess. (7/10)

Graphics: This game counts with a really good graphics, with very well done animations... Just let Jim stand at any place and you will see him singing, jumping the rope (with his own head) and Posing. Enemies have good animations also... along, with the backgrounds. Detailed and with some good effects that give more reality. (Such as the Moon shining at New Junk City). (9/10)

Sound: As well, the game has a really fitting music, every stage has a music that goes with environment of it. SFX is another good thing that this game has. (8/10)

Addictiveness: The game is somewhat addictive... Once again, difficulty, graphics and Music helps a lot here. Every detail of this game makes you play it again. Doesn't matter how many times you played it before. You'll play it again for sure. (8/10)

Depth: Depth is another strong point of the product, Some of the stages present unique challenges, such as "Snot A Problem!" in where you must battle the main boss of it while doing Bungee jumping. Or "Down the tubes" in where you can drive submarines or Ride giant hamsters. As an extra challenge, between every round you must race against Psycrow. (One of the Queen's minions) Controls are quite simple: Jim has two main weapons: His Head, (that he uses as a whip) and his Plasma Gun, Whip is more powerful (It can beat enemies that Plasma gun can't, but it has a short attack range) and can be used to swing between one point to other. Plasma gun can be used to reach far enemies, but it's pretty weak. (However, we can get an Item that upgrades one of their bullets). Jim also can use his head as a Helicopter to slow the speed of the fall.

As you see, our character has some good moves, and the stages have some good challenges. (8/10)

Difficulty: Very hard, as in every video game, The stages become more harder when you get close to the final one. Faster obstacles and Invincible enemies appear with more frequency, along with the Bosses. (8/10).

Final Rating: 9

Earthworm Jim is one of the best games that the SNES ever had, it's unique in every sense and very recommendable to play. Easy to play and full of Fun in every stage of it... Just give it the chance and you'll see.

I'm a guy that prefers the Genesis version of the Earthworm Jim games. For one, the music sounds cooler, and secondly, I just grew up with it.

Great game really loved the way it played and the graphics weren't too bad at all, not a bad play at all, everyone should give it one try at some point, it least once, great game overall, just not a 5 out of 5 though.
