There are many tricks, simple and advanced that you can pull off in Super Metroid. Simple tricks include wall jumping, bomb jumping, and then the shinespark. Then you have the advanced tricks like the mock ball, speedball, diagonal bomb jump (O.o), and instant air ball.

I like the shinespark. It gets you places faster and pretty much kills just about anything in your way. Well, until you hit a wall that you can't go though, that is.

Never played Super Metroid..well I have but only for 10 minutes. I need to fire this up on the rgr sometime, it's one of the only metroid games that I haven't beaten yet.

I would have to say the wall jump because it allows you to beat the game in a different order and get different items earlier than normally. Sorta takes some of the linear feel of the game away.

Another trick is using your charge beam and 1 other beam type and charging your beam then morphing to a ball while fully charged and unleash special attacks instead of your regular bombs.

MrTerminator99 : This game is great I played it long time ago and beat it.  I remember the ramming one that lets you break down barriers and the roster one that lets you jump high and slam you head into the roof.  I will play the game soon to catch up on things.  Thank you for reminding me of the game.

Though I don't like doing these as you slip off walls wall jumping, and you don't always quick morph when you want to, you can sequence break a lot using these methods, making several different ways possible to get the quickest time. I completely skipped the Spring Ball thanks to some quick morphing, and you can get the Spazer early if you just wall jump up the tube to it.

my favorite is the blue suit samus trick which makes you invincible until you shinespark, var beam or murder beam is a game crasher but it still is cool, I also like this unexplainable glitch with ridley where being grabbed by him while he is getting hurt kills him.

Definetly the mockball and specifically the horizontal shinespark as these can allow you to take some serious shortcuts. The Kraid quick kill is still like 40% chance of success at best. If only I could get that in a speedrun. Anyway, my video is a clear time of 54 minutes and I'm working on one around 47-48 minutes. I could post one of 49 minutes but I bombed the Kraid battle... so dissapointed. The run involves the gate glitch at the end which means I don't need anymore than 20 missiles and 15 super missiles. Record and post your runs guys!
