MLB '12 the Show is a baseball game developed exclusively for the Sony gaming systems. It offers the ability to play as pros in real life situations in the Major Leagues. There are a variety of game modes including Road to the Show, where you can create your own player and watch them grow through the minors into the majors, and Franchise mode, where you control a Major League franchise and try to lead them to prosperity. This game offers one of the most dynamic baseball gaming experiences you will ever see in any baseball game made for any system.
Graphics 8: The graphics are not perfect, but they look nice. With most sports games on the PS3, the faces are a little off and can look weird at times. Other than that, the designs of the grass are spot on and the recreation of the stadiums are phenomenal. These graphics offer a lot in terms of putting the player in the Major League experience.
Sound 10: The game comes with commentary, which is cool at first, but then gets repetitive as you do the same things over and over again. It is sometimes fun to see if you can unlock new bits and pieces of commentary as you do knew things in the game. The music in this game is very good too. The songs are so good that I bought a couple of them on my iPod so I could listen to them when I am not playing the game.
Addictiveness 10: This game is so fun that I have to fight for time on the PS3 to play it. I have played a total of five seasons in my Road to the Show pitcher over the course of a week. Not only have I done that, but I have progressed very far in my Franchise mode. This game will be extremely hard for you to put down, no matter what situation you are in.
Story : There is no story in most sports games. This should improve very soon, as I believe there should be a story in almost every game.
Depth 10: This game has so many game modes and different ways to play that you will always have something to do when you play this game. This game is in the top couple percentile in terms of how deep you can make the game, just as how all sports games are.
Difficulty 7: This game is hard depending on how you play it. It will be easier if you play it on rookie instead of legend, so the difficulty is different for everyone who plays.
Overall 9: This game is very fun to play and keeps me occupied when I play my PS3. I enjoyed how the game was realistic in how the stadiums were set up and player attributes match how they would be in real life. This game is one you should play if you love baseball or just want the major league experience.
