Hi, I'm relatively new here, so sorry if this is a common question.  I have tried on all three of my browsers(firefox, IE, and chrome), and run windows 7, but cannot get the menu to show up on the N64 emulators.  I know that you need to double click the screen to open the menu, but it doesn't pop up at all.

Once again, sorry if it's a really dumb question, but I did try to find a solution.

Thanks in advance!

Currently only the 1964 emulator supports customizing the controls, double clicking the screen won't work on Mupen64.

Thanks for the help!  However, after trying the 1964 emulator, I found that it will not start the game whatsoever (once again, I tried all three of the browsers) at the bottom of the screen, it says "Loading emulator(Nintendo64)" and in chrome, a message pops up at the top saying the RGR plugin crashed.

That happens for any of the N64 games?

...or are there only specific games. Certain games will only work on Mupen because of the default memory setting.

Which games have you tried?

Only conker's bad fur day, but it does work on my brother's laptop.

Another thing though; is there another way I can modify my controls for game-pad play other than the menu? That would solve my reason for even needing the menu anyways.

Well, here is an answer for why it works on your brother's laptop. The N64 ROMs are picky. Each individual computer has their own set of N64 games that work for them and others that don't. Each computer seems to be different on which ones do and don't work. Your brother's laptop just works better for Conker than your computer. You could probably find an N64 game that works on yours that doesn't work on your brother's.

The Mupen64 emulator should automatically detact your controller and have a preset config - it does for me anyway. Try going into your control panel and select the 'Properties' for your gamepad, then make sure all buttons and axises are working then click OK. After this load up a game on Mupen and it should work. Also, the gamepad will have to be plugged in before loading the game otherwise the Plugin won't recognize it.

If this fails, I'd recommend for you to download XPadder from Vizzed's Control Panel, however, I think the file was lost during a recent server transfer, which will hopefully be fixed shortly:

Thanks so much for your help! Now, I tested the controller through the control panel, and the very root of the problem lies in that the R button doesn't map onto my controller for some reason.  It sounds like XPadder would be able to remedy this though, so I guess the only thing left to do is wait for that.  It'll make this zombie level of Conker tougher, but I'll give it my best shot

Thanks again!
