Okay with Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier coming on here soon I figured I can do a tribute to the famous Franchise. I started my on-line gaming with Ghost Recon Island Thunder or GRIT as it is known to most fans. However, despite what most fans believe GRIT was not the first Ghost Recon. GRIT was actually the third in this series of first person soon to change to 3rd person shooter type game.

In 2001 Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon took the gaming world by storm. Ghost Recon was released for the X-Box, Playstation 2, and the Nintendo Game Cube. Taking place in the year 2008, you are a member of the Ghost Squad. The Russians are trying to get the Soviet UNION back together. This alarms the United States so they send in their Ghost Squad in to Georgia (the country not the state) to stop the Russians. Over the course of the game the Ghost take the fighting straight to the Red Square. This game is a first person shooter, with a single player storyline, and then a multi-player on-line option with different game types to play while on-line.

The next game to be release would be Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Desert Siege in 2002 for on the PC and Mac. This game was not released for any of the game consoles. Desert Siege is set six months after the first game. This time the Ghost are deployed to East Africa to stop the same ultra-nationalist from the first game.

The next game to be release in 2003 is Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Island Thunder. This game takes place during the year 2010. This game takes place in Cuba, where Fidel Castro's heirs fail to keep the fire of his resolution. As a result a new revolution takes place and topples the communist regime. It is your job as a Ghost to make sure the elections take place and stop those who would want to stop democracy from entering Cuba. This game is an addition to the original Ghost Recon, with 5 new mission and 12 new multi-player maps. This game is also a First person shooter as well. GRIT did not make it to the Playstation 2, however it was released for both the X-Box and PC.

In 2004 Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Jungle storm was released for the Playstation 2. Jungle Storm takes place just after GRIT (Ghost Recon Island Thunder). Being located in Columbia, it is the Ghost's job to take out the Cartel. It was the Cartel that were funding the revolution in Cuba, and are now turning their efforts towards the Colombian Government. This game is also a first person shooter and was a multi-player game as well that ran on the Playstation 2's early Internet system.

After what seemed like forever for most gamers, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon 2 was released in 2004 for the X-Box, Playstation 2, and Nintendo Game Cube. Taking place in the year 2007, Ghost Recon 2 brings the Ghosts to the Korean Peninsula. Ghost Recon 2 brings on a new Korean War, where Jung Chung-Sun plots against South Korea and NATO. Also this is the first introduction to a main character name Scott Mitchell. Also this is the first Ghost Recon where game play has been changed from first person base shooter to a third person based shooter. This got a lot of loyal fan a little mad at the sudden change. However, most fans (including me) adapted to the new game play to make the Ghost Recon franchise to make it one of the most played on-line games to this day.

Next Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon 2 : Summit Strike was released in 2005 for the X-Box. This game is an add-on to Ghost Recon 2. Again this game was release as a third person shooter, however, Ubisoft put in the option for first person for those who wanted the classic view. There were two ways to play the first person view. One was to be in the first person room only where everyone was put into first person view. This allowed the game to be played with different perspectives. The other way actually put you at a disadvantage. This way allowed only you to play in first person while everyone else could play in a third person over the shoulder type of view.

Next to be released in this series is Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advance Warfighter, or GRAW as it is known to its hard core fans. Released in 2006 GRAW takes place in 2013, and in a span of 72 hours. The President of the United States has been Kidnapped, and it is up to Scott Mitchell and his squad of Ghost to save him. This game introduces a new game style with smarter computer and human controlled AI's. This game focuses on team work and communication, as being a "Lone Wolf" doesn't work out to well in most situations of the game. However, there are parts of the game where it is just you, playing as Scott  Mitchell doing solo missions in the game.

24 hours after GRAW comes GRAW 2. Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advance Warfighter 2 was released in 2007 and once again deals with the U.S and Mexico boarders. This game brings in a new and approved AI as well as a new way to control your squad of Ghost. It is the last game that was made in this series for the X-Box 360 and Playstation 3. However, even though GRAW 2 was also released for the Playstation Portable, it was not last Ghost Recon made for the PSP.

In 2010 Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Predator was released for the PSP. In this game the Ghosts are in Pakistan and have 72 hours to prepare the way for an U.S invasion. However, the Ghost recover information that they were hitting the wrong enemy and have to get this information back to the U.S before the U.S goes into an unpredictable and devastating war. Also Released with this was the Wii's version Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wii.

In Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wii, the player gets to control two different Ghost members as they shoot their way through a futuristic Moscow. During a chaotic insertion squad members Hibbard and Booth get separated from their squad players get to fight their way from Norway to Moscow as they try and get these two squad members reunited with their team. As players advance through the game they unlock other iconic characters from different games like Splinter Cell, Rainbow Six, and past Ghost Recon games.

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Shadow War is the next game to come out for the Nintendo 3DS. Released in 2011, Shadow War becomes the first game from Ubisoft and of the Ghost Recon series to be made in 3D. There are 37 missions in Shadow War that lead your Ghost squad throughout Russia in order to track what are called "Dead Hand" bases. There are also 11 different one-on-one multi-player maps that players can pass their 3DS back in forth between friends on.

The next game to come out for this series will be coming out on May 22. This game is suppose to take place in the near future and feature new game tactics that have never been used before. Also for the 360 version players get to use the kinetic to test and modify different guns. In multi-player players will be allowed to unlock different guns and attachment as their player levels up through game play and gain experience.

After reading different descriptions of the different games you mentioned from places like wikipedia and alibris.com, I saw that a lot of the descriptions are exactly the same with a bit of rewording. At first, I thought it was a coincidence that some sentences were very similar, but then I saw that pretty every sentence said was said in the same way and same order as the descriptions I found online with each sentence here tweaking some words here and there. If you disagree, with me, I can show the specific paragraphs that raised the flags.

rcarter2: No your right that I got my information off of Wikipedia. However, being that Wikipedia is a free source I don't legally have to cite that I got my information from there. I did, however, know most of this information as I have played most not all but most of the Tom Clancy' Ghost Recon games. So most of the information if it seems to be just like Wikipedia is just a coincidence. Like I said most of this is from my experience of playing most of these games.
I have played Ghost Recon, Ghost Recon: Island Thunder, Ghost Recon 2, Ghost Recon 2: Summit Strike, Ghost Recon Advance Warfighter, and Ghost Recon Advance Warfighter 2. As for the other games I tried my best to put it all in my own words.

I do realize that, but I think if you're going to do the work you should hand write all from the top of your head based on research you've used. Not copy/paste scraps and pieces from wikipedia and change the words around to make it look like your own work. I never said you were doing anything wrong, I just said that you should know better. Now please, carry on...
