This is the town of Mountainia. Don't laugh at the name, I'd like to see you find a town with a better name on this continent. If you'll look off to the north, you'll see the Focus Tower - where all the land's peace comes from. However, the doors in the Focus Tower are all locked. This is known throughout the land. We have the finest blacksmith in the land living in our humble town, though, and he is willing to use adamantite to forge keys to the tower doors.

It's your job to go out and find the adamantite for him.

You young adventurers are perfect for the job, actually. There has been a lot of monsters hanging around everywhere, but the only people who stand a chance against them come holding Tree Withers. Which I see you already have. So, please, choose your class, and we'll see how you do against monsters on our very own Hill of Destiny.

Hero
The most well rounded class, however, he has the weakest HP. Learns all types of magic. Specializes in swords.

Druid
Highest defense, high speed, middle of the road magic. Good for tanking. Specializes in axes and white magic.

Black Mage
Weakest attack stat and low defense, but highest Magic Power. Learns all types of magic. Specializes in claw weapons, which inflict many kinds of status effects.

Soldier
Highest attack stat, highest starting HP, and can use the special Morning Star weapon at level 21, but low Magic Power. May have a slow stat gain curve...

Treasure Hunter
Highest overall health and speed, but lowest Magic Power. Specializes in limited ammunition weapons, like shuriken, bow and arrows, and bombs.

Green Mage
High hp, low defense, low speed, average attack, highest starting magic and averaged levels in black and wizard magic, which is abnormal compared to the other mage characters. Does not get white magic, or weapon specialties.

A list of things you can do in battle.

A list of things you can do in battle. Remember to do one of these when you register if a battle is going on at the moment!

Attack - Attacks an enemy with the chosen weapon. Uses your turn.
Item - Uses an item on a player. Uses your turn, and consumes 1x of the chosen item. Cannot use items you have 0x of.
Magic - Uses a chosen spell on a player. Cannot use spells that are not in your inventory. Uses 1x WHI, BLA, or WIZ, depending on the spell - you can tell which from the way the spell book looks. Most spells are governed under the Spell Level system. Higher level spells do not use more points than lower level ones.
Defend - Either take damage instead of someone else, or take half damage if you defend yourself. Uses your turn.
Tactics - Use special commands, like Spell Targeting and Cover All. Depending on the command, may use your turn.
Analyze - Learn the weaknesses and resistances of an enemy. Does not use your turn. May take a while to finish analyzing.

Tactics List

Spell Targeting Enhancement
Usable by: Everyone
Allows players to target up to three specific enemies with a multitarget attack spell, or up to two specific allies with a multitarget healing spell. May still target every enemy or player. Spell effects will be divided evenly - for example, if I cast Cure with 0 MAG on two people, each of the two people will gain 25% HP.

Run the hell away
Usable by: Everyone
A majority vote to try to escape from the battle and go back to the previous town. You will have to fight the same amount of battles in each area starting from the town no matter what, so only use this tactic in a situation where you can not win.

Huddle
Usable by: Everyone, but only in three party battles
Talking among the group to decide action.
If it's a Player vs. Player battle, you can PM me your actions to keep them out of earshot.

Monsters will come in groups dependent on the amount of players playing. For example, with three players, we could have between three and nine monsters, usually somewhere around six.

Also, you notice that our sprites are different colored? You can ask for that. Giga says he will do recolors, but not outright edits.

Anybody else that signs up will go On Deck until how this is going to go is decided They are voted into a party.

On Deck has been made more user friendly - It shows how many votes there are/Needed. [X] means that the team is Unbalanced, and if they are voted in, the player is 'reserved', and must wait for the other team to vote someone in. The reservation lasts about 2 weeks Until it seems that nobody is going to go On Deck for a while. Whichever team gets the majority of votes in first gets the player.

NOTE: 1/1 means Team 1 is in battle 1 for the area, and Team 2 is in Battle 1 as well. This does not mean battle 1 of 1 for the area.

Status Effects

- Sleep. Unable to act until attacked or three turns pass.
- Silence. May not use magic until three turns pass.
- Poison. At the end of every turn, get hurt for 5% of your max health. Lasts three turns, may stack if you're really unlucky.
- Paralysis. Unable to act until three turns pass.
- Confusion. Do a random act for three turns. This may include hitting party members.
- Blindness. Halves your ACC.
- Petrification. Equal to death.

These are players that have gotten 2 TnT Tokens on them. The first time, they're kicked and have to be voted back in. The second time, they lost all Weapons, Relics, and GP, and are kicked out and have to be voted back in. The third time, you are out for good.

Sorry to the people who want to join but can't due to there being too many people who signed up before the thread was even posted.

If anyone is familiar with Final Fantasy Mystic Quest, then you're in for absolutely zero surprises! The monsters have harder stats, but that and the "story only" items are the only things that have been changed.

I'm the one currently maintaining the spreadsheet with all the damage formulas and enemy stats that silverthundr is using, as well as my free recolour service.

I think a lot of our sign-ups will be that of through private matters; I've already got a couple of people I know interested, so I suggest that anyone skimming along and interested in playing this game should sign up quick.

Also lawl @ "run the hell away"; I liked the original name for it from the game on SMWC better.

Just to summon everyone.

I'm going to hit Brownie #1 with my blunt-ass sword.

So anyway, something I forgot to say.

We currently have 8 people, and another who wants in. If we get 12 total people, I'll make a second party. If we have less than that, we'll have a large party. I won't have more than 2 parties at a time, which means I won't take more than 20 total period.

Oh, yeah, you can switch positions with another person. People in the back row take half damage, but also deal half damage.

I'm just going to suggest that maybe NovemberJoy might want to go in the back row, because I can tell you now, that half damage isn't going to both you at all. Maybe later, you might want to be a meatshield, but that's not today.

The story goes like this: All our players are travelling together for some reason up the Hill of Destiny to Mountainia. They've all received a magical Tree Wither for some reason or another, and as a group they learned about the blacksmith in Mountainia, so that's where they're going to get some equipment and confirmation that he's willing to craft these keys.

Where did we all come from?

Nobody knows. Maybe another dimension.

1) I see you want to change your class back there. Once a party enters a battle, you are locked in to your class. People on deck can still switch classes until they're put into a fight.

2) No, going in the back row does not use up a turn. You can choose to switch with anybody willing - Maybe one of the Treasure Hunters? The only rule is you both have to agree.

Oh, yeah, currently, the rules are 4 in the front row and 4 in the back. This may be changed depending on how many more people join. Well, it WILL be changed, eventually, but the change will vary on the size of the party.

Can we attack now?  If we can, I attack Brownie #2 with my weird sword.  Is it really extremely blunt??
