Where do I begin.  Well, Mega, you really have made me think about who I am as a person.  What you did is something I have had turmoil with for a long time, and I finally opened up to my roommates with. My roommates responded by basically a mixture of laughter and understanding to an extent. You see, Mega isn't the only one who wants to come out and say this. I just happen to want to be a female, or at least looked upon as such. I just don't know how to begin. When I tried to open up to the people I consider my family, I got literally laughed at, so no chance there.
I am not asking for anything but the respect of others, and I am not doing this for attention seeking, or to be like Mega,  or the "post of the day". I just want to be understood I guess. I just want people to say something other than "ha ha" which my roomates are doing quite well at (the laughing part). I don't know. I just want to be understood to an extent. To sum it up, Mega you have a LOT of courage, and what I'm doing here is taking all my courage and then some. I used a lot on my roomies, only to be crushed. But kudos to you, and a heartfelt thank you, because if not for you, I don't think I would have never said nothing.

I support you, just like I supported mega, manic. If you want to be looked upon as a girl, so be it. But I hope you are sincere, girl, because I hate getting played like I have in the past.

Why do people insist on being accepted by society? Most of society will shun you especially if you are a gay or transgender that is just how it is. You will get laughed at and called names no matter how fat you are, how bald you are, how ugly you are, what religion you follow, how funny you look etc... the list goes on.

No one should be going out and looking for acceptance cause there is always something to complain about. If I went out side and told people I was god what would people think of me? They would laugh and think I'm insane.

Its not about others accepting you its about you accepting yourself. If you are looking for others to accept you then you're looking in the wrong place cause you got 7 billion+ people to impress.

Its good you had the courage to tell your roommate however I'm sure he feels just as awkward as you do. I'm not sure that is something he really need to know anyway. If you started dressing like a woman maybe then it would make a little more sense to explain but if you still appear like a guy and tell him there is not much belief to that. The obvious reaction would be its a joke so that should have been expected.

I agree with what Jigsaw said. Whatever reactions you may encounter from people, you should try and stay strong for your own sake.

But personally I accept you for who you are. I have studied gender dysphoria somewhat extensively. This is a very real condition where people a different gender identity than the physical sex they were born with.
Although I can never truly understand what it is to be transgendered, because I am not, I know what you might be going through and I have made my best attempt to understand trans people's struggles. If you ever need someone to talk please send me a message. I'm not a counselor or anything, but I might as well put that out there.

As you probably know there are some people out there who hate and are disgusted by transgendered people, for whatever reasons. So while you should not be ashamed of who you are, it might be wise to hold off from "coming out" to certain people while you are still living as a male, if there is a potential that they would want to harm you. Just some advice.

Well I can support that Manic. If you want to be looked upon like a female just like what Mega did, then I have no problem saying that you are female, like you want to be. I don't see any reason why I wouldn't accept it, really.

Personally I will accept you for whatever you wish as long as it doesn't affect my life any. Truth is this is the internet and you can say whatever you want. I could join a site tomorrow and claim to be the price of wales. If I could get someone to believe me, who's to say that I'm not really the prince?
Truth is that the internet is really not a place where you should seek acceptance. People really can be cold and mean, so keep that in mind.

Your personal preference on life is just that, and you should be able to live your life as you wish. Just be sure to realize that everyone is not all cuddly and willing to accept your lifestyle. I know it's lame, but it's the way of the world.
