So I have noticed quite a controversy with blizzard and its customers as of late some happy and elated some not so much, first date given to the public was February 13th 2012 that has long since passed, now it is in May sometime which hopefully is the final release. Now I have noticed that Blizzard has a tendency to push off release dates cause they strive for perfection but I have been waiting for 7 years for D3 to be released/put in to a planning stage and finally I get my new crack fix come May, blizzard I have waited long enough let me buy it already.

Now There have been some issues discussed that D3 might end up way to much like WOW and I already notice that they are using similar graphics as for gameplay I don't know cause I wasn't privileged enough to get a beta key. They are going to have a in game Auction house that you can spend real world money on items makes you wonder if this will skew gameplay for those of us that don't want to spend more money then we need too. Hypothetically botting will no longer be an issue much unlike D2. Well cheers can't wait to see you all on the battle.net come may

The May 15th date is a solid date for release that they have confirmed.

Most people that are a fan of the game are exited as hell, and like you sort of mentioned, any Blizzard fan knows that their development cycle for a game is way longer than other studios.

That being said, I'm excited for the game to come out, and I already have my copy reserved.

I don't know if I will get Diablo 3...  You will required to be on the internet to even play the game. an article said that when someone logs into their account, the game will log onto Battle.net and verify the player's account. That's a load of bullcrap. I mean I do have access to the internet right now, but if in the future I should not have the internet, I won't even be able to play single player without being able to have my account identified.
Also articles are saying there may not even be a single player game, it will all be online. What happened to playing through the single player story to get a hand on everything and then moving to online play to find the really good gear and stuff?

I am so excited for Diablo 3, it is the first game I ever preordered. There is no way I am letting this thing sell out before I get a chance to buy it lol. It is a Blizzard game though, so I really shouldn't have to worry about that too much seeing as there will probably be a million copies of this thing in every store... I just wanted to make sure I got it day one!

As far as the release date goes, May 15th is final. They have all ready started making the boxes and I heard rumors that the game has gone gold ( meaning they started making the DVD's). They even announced that it won't launch with PvP as that would have delayed the game even more, which they didn't want. I've been wanting this for about 10 years or so, and knowing its only 1 month away is really exciting.

NameEntry : I wouldn't blame you for not getting D3, if you foresee yourself without an internet connection in the near future.  From what I understand, the reason why blizzard made it require a connection is to help prevent hacking. They made it so alot of the game data is stored on blizzard servers and not your computer. For instance, if you were to hack/patch the game to work offline, there would be no monsters spawning.

Although you will need the internet to play it ( I believe Starcraft 2 does the same thing, so it should be similar to that if you've played it) you will still be able to do 'single player'. Which basically means locking your room so no other players can join. Compared to D2 this is slightly different because you would only get 1 generated map in D2 solo play while this one will load a new one with every new room made. Also in D2 your single player character couldn't join any Closed Battlenet games. Basically, you don't need to worry too much about single player as long as you have a connection.
