Even though there is still a little over two months of school left, I cannot seem to make myself care about it. I pretty much sit there expressionless; shuffling from class to class every hour. Everyday I do not feel the need to actually try on my work, and even though I don't even try I'm still making A's and B's; with the exception of one C.

Maybe it's just lack of sleep why I feel this way... I've been getting maybe 3 hours of sleep a night.

Any ideas on how I can help myself? School has almost become miserable for me...

I think everyone feels this way.

In high school I got maybe 3 hours a night as well.

And I was a cross country runner. On that sleep. Ouch.

Well, this stuff happens to me quite a bit. Its tough to think that you are this close to summer vacation and your effort to care seems to start to slip away.

Well, if you are getting A's and B's without even caring/trying, then I would say that you clearly are not being challenged enough. When you are not challenged, why would you have any motivation in school? Do you get to choose classes? If so, next year, try taking some that you think might be more engaging or challenging for you. School is more boring when you don't have to try. I am actually in a similar rut myself. I am really just emotionally done with school. I want it to be over. Although it is mainly because this is the end of my 6th year of college, I still have one more semester left, so I am just completely burned out and drained. But we just gotta keep going because quitting now would make all the previous years a complete waste

I feel some moments of motivation to stud and work hard every once in a while, but really I do is just skate by. I'll still get A's and B's without too much effort on my part, but I'm too lazy.

Sometimes it's hard to stay focused if you don't think you are being challenged or if you don't really like what you are doing. I felt like that a lot when going through high school, and thankfully was able to get through and get accepted to a good college which was amazing considering how much I skipped and just messed around.

I will tell you though that I regret not applying myself more during school and trying a little bit harder. Things could have possibly been much easier if I applied myself a little more.

That's the main motivation that you can take to motivate you...that you don't want to have to work some crappy job you hate the rest of your life...that you want to go to school and have the opportunity for a great job that you will be happy working rather than just going through the motions

I'll give you a tip, all that junk they tell you about colleges worrying about your grades is just that. Junk. College care about your money and if you passed the SATs. That said, you're more likely to get grants and scholarships if your grades are good, so don't let them slip based on that alone.

Well, if you are looking for a solution to "want" to want to care about school, then this is what I did.

I found someone who was a lot more hardworking than I and was in a good amount of my same classes, then had a one sided competition where I would get mad if I got a single grade less than him/her (usually a him) within my own mind. It worked a lot better than I expected.

It is good you have a goal. It is true that it doesn't require a college degree, but as with all dreams, it is always good to either have a backup in case if you made it there and it wasn't what you hoped it would be, or to have something to earn money while trying to reach it.
