Devil crash or Devil ´s crush, as the game for the Turbo Grafx is called is a devilishly good Pinball game which one can escape difficult if they even began to play it. There is probably no second game of this type that is innovative, full of ideas and fascinating as devil crash. This creepy spectacle of a game appeared originally on the PC engine, Devil crash MD was converted but a year later under the name of Technosoft for Sega's mega drive, where it technically entirely revised and playful something changed.

The main graphical format of Devil crash covers three screen sizes and is divided accordingly, also in three sections, which are built from top to bottom. The bizarre fantasy graphics alone in themselves will already most certainly more attract your attention at the beginning, as well as magnificent game play, because the demonic atmosphere they created will take your breath away. Which consists of a great skeleton warrior, which includes a large portal with multiple inputs, with his arms on a Pentagram a bevy of wizards celebrated their dark rituals awaits you at the top of the playing field. The next level is dominated by a large face of a woman, which whenever you make one small Pentagram turns to a daemon. And finally there is a tower, flanked by a dragon and a spirit, in the middle of the bottom and at the same time dangerous, level of hell. Since this game is devilishly difficult to watch, it can al too easily happen that you are not always entirely focused on the ball, it can very easily happen then that it disappears faster into the abyss of no return, faster then you able to press the buttons on the flippers.

In all three sections many various monsters romp around which will influence the course of your balls, but when hit and you have destroyed them a number of them bring you additional points and various bonuses. Everywhere there are a variety of ways, where one you ball can snag you even more extra points, or activate some protection that save you in tricky situations before the ball gets lost and plunges you into the darkness. Extra balls can also be earned, but you need a bit of luck. But it is the six different bonus rounds that represent the actual attraction of the game, and it is only when a certain number of conditions have been met, and waiting until the appropriate teleporter is enabled or released, that you can make your way into the bonus rounds, via the mouth of the Dragon. These bonus rounds must then be overcome where you will encounter the biggest and most horrible figments of hell like for example a five headed Hydra or complete certain tasks with only a single ball, if you would like to complete it successfully. Things are anything but simple, and you will not progresses with luck alone. To succeed, you must play really tactically. And waiting for any brave challenger is the super tough final opponent. But until then it's a long way of skill and technical ability. For this reason, the game also has a score recording function. Your progress and achievements are encrypted in a password rendered that can be queried at any point in the game by pressing the Start button.

The PC engine and mega drive versions differ very little in their basic conception. The bonus rounds are partially quite different and entice you with other attractions, but mostly the same. The graphical implementation on both is excellent and highly imaginative.. Overall there is very little to complain about on both versions of devil crash. The scrolling is absolutely cleanly programmed and adjusts to the speed of the ball so that you can keep track. And all the time you are accompanied by a devilishly good music, which has the potential to be a really catchy tune.

This is one of the best pinball style games in the Mega Drive and a delight to play, and definitely not a game that should be ignored.
