Okay. Things you should know.

1.) I use the program GIMP to make my art and animations. I don't have the money to buy fancy animating programs like flash, so Gimp is the best I can do. It also means I animate old school style - draw each frame.

2.) The character featured in this mini short animation is my original character Glyph, a poke morph gligar who has the tendency to lick strangers. He is in fact straight, he's just...quirky....
This is what he normally looks like.

3.) I got lazy when it came to animating the second guy, so he's much sloppier. I'll fix him and the gligar's wonky collar thing when I color it.

4.) I suck at animating, but I was bored and I really wanted to see this done.

Okay. Now that that is all out of the way, here's the stupid little animation loop.

Well? Also, if you want to know more about Glyph, ask away. He's the first character I made that actually gained fans who like him enough to draw fan art of him, so I'm kind excited right now. ((True, I'm pretty sure some of his new fans are yaoi fan girls, which is scary, but the sheer fact that he has fans has shocked me into giddiness tonight.))

I would hate it if that guy came up to me and licked me.  I might just pull out a random wooden mallet and whop him over the head with it. lol

So you use gimp to animate, too?  How do you do that?  I'm a poor person, too, so I stick to gimp when I colour my line art.

Japxican : heh heh, Glyph is pretty good at dodging. He'd see it as a game.

To animate in Gimp, think of each layer as a frame in the animation. Once you've finished drawing each frame, you can test the animation by going to filter -> playback

If it looks good, save the file as a .gif and the program will prompt you, asking if you'd like to merge visible layers or save it as an animation.

Wow, this is really cool! Animation is pretty tough, but even if you have a program like Flash, animating it frame by frame is really the best way to go. Tweens suck.

Hey, if you want something a bit more geared toward animation, you should check out Synfig. It's free! I've never used it though, so I don't know how good it is.
