Good ol' Bomberman strikes again!

Back in the day, SNES and Genesis were the two most top rated 16-bits video game systems... Both consoles were invaded by lots of Arcade ports and good but very Unapreciated games made by unknow companies... Hudson soft was one of these. They Inavaded the NES with games like Adventure Island and such... And in the SNES they strike back with his most famous character: Bomberman... They relased 5 or 6 games for it... But only two of these were relased for the USA... Today we're going to talk about the 2nd. game: Super Bomberman 2.

History: Okay, The game starts with the intro. Where we see a giant spaceship about to land over the Bombermen's planet with one thing in mind: Conquer their planet... The Invaders are know as "The Five Bad Bombers" and they are: Magnet Bomber, Golem Bomber, Pretty Bomber, Brain Bomber and their leader: Plasma Bomber. Our hero, White Bomberman, tries to stop them... But, he's defeted and Jailed by the Bombers... Now, he must escape and defeat them... Of course, he counts with his bombs to stop them... Every game needs a plot... This one is okay, It's not the best. It's the classical cliche of the "Other Space" invaders... But, It's all right (6/10) 

Depth: Like any other Bomberman game, you must place the bomb in a place and wait for the explosion which goes in a cross shape... There's also some destroyable blocks which contains items: An item that upgrades your explosion's power, another that gives you extra speed, another that gives you a health point, other that allows you to place an Extra bomb, Another that makes the explosions go thought the destroyable blocks... And another that leads you control the time of the bomb's explosion... At the end of a stage you must face the Bomber which owns the stage: The battle is composed in two sections: on the 1st. one you must face the bomber like if you were playing in battle mode... Be careful! becuase the bomber has some powers that can affect you in certain mode (I.e. Magnet bomber's bombs will follow your bombs). After defeating it, it will run away thought a door. In which you must enter too, then the bomber will appear riding a giant robot... Which takes many hits to kill. After defeating it you will go to next stage. (while you see a cutscene in where the previous stage is destroyed, a nice detail.) As you can see, there's a lot of useful items and things to do (Like riding boats in the Pretty bomber's stage) For only having 5 stages it has a good duration. (9/10)

Graphics: Those are made in a ezque-3D looking... Which is not bad... It gives the game a good looking for the time. The colors are right too... Some stages are very colorful and others are kinda darker a a bit monothone... the animations have good quality too. It's fun to see Bomberman jumping of Joy after finishing a Stage or spining and droping a tear after getting defeated... Or the face that the enemies make when they die. (9/10)

Sound: It's catchy... But not memorable... Anyways. It's superior to the previous game one... It just goes well with the stage tematic and the game's action. Some tunes like the Final Stage one are Epic. Others, like the Pretty Bomber's one are pretty happy and cheerful. About the SFX, it's simple, but good... The sound of the enemies or the bombs exploding are good evidence. (8/10)

Addictivness: Well, It's a game that you will barely play (At least, that happens in my case)... Most part of times will be because of the Battle mode... After some stages (in the history mode) the game will become boring and harder. That can be a big problem to deal with... (7/10)

About the Difficulty: The first stages are easier, But in the later levels things will become serious... Enemies are more faster and even can avoid some of your attacks. Also the traps start to be more harder to avoid and the Bosses start doing more powerful attacks... (7/10)

Final Rating: 9

It's a good game to play with friends in battle mode or alone in the history mode... Beat this game is great achivement for your gamer history... So, If you have chance... Play it!
