I forgot that they were $250. That is exciting. That means that the site needs about $41 more to earn a new system? I forgot, on the first post, it says "More Game Systems" $250. Does that mean that all the games in that system together would be an extra $250, or would each individual system be $250? If it is the latter, which one do you think will be the first of the list to be put on?

I have actually never played any of those systems before, which is pretty exciting. I did a quick brows of each one, and the ones that interest me the most so far are the Atari Lynx and Turbo Grafx. Can't wait. Although, I have to say that I am still very surprised that so few have donated. Given the response the announcement got and the fact that there are countless threads as well as countless PM's to the Retro Game Room staff about PS1, Dreamcast, and the various Sega disc consoles being added, I was expecting donations just lining up like crazy. $10 might seem to little to matter, but one $10 donation is actually 4% of what is needed for a lot of these features. It just makes me wish even more that the occasional lottery ticket I buy at a gas station is a winner. I would purchase netplay and those systems immediately if that happened

rcarter2 : Yeah I really am shocked at the very few donations, everyone expects everyone else to donate unfortunately. A lot of people use the excuse they're too young but those same people probably have their Mom's buy them other stuff online. Others use the excuse they don't have the money but will probably go blow $10 on junk food the following week

Oh well. Btw, I'm shocked you've never played the Turbo Grafx, I had one growing up and really enjoyed it. We do have TG on the site currently but the Java emulator doesn't have full compatibility and having it in the Plugin will open the doors for saving, screenshot taking, highscores, etc.

Exactly. Junk food is exactly what I was thinking. Just lay off getting a drink from the vending machine for a few days, and you have $10 right there. I get younger people don't have debit/credit cards and even though their parents buy stuff for them online, the aren't as likely to just donate to a site so it can get more features. But for those kids, all they have to do is save up $10, put it on something like a Wal-Mart card, and send you the code (Don't know if Wal-Mart cards work like that, but a lot of gift cards do). They don't need debit/credit cards.

Yeah, I may have had a butt load of games for the systems I had, but I didn't really have that many systems. My parents got us the NES and GameBoy when we were really little. They bought us an SNES during the middle of it's reign. For my birthday when I was in 5th or 6th grade, they got my a DreamCast. Those were the only ones though. As far as my GBA, Xbox, and Xbox 360, I got those on my own. At least I made sure with the systems I did have, I loaded my shelves with games for them. Nowhere near the amount you had being your dad is a collector, but more than anyone I have met in person. Anyone else I know who has more than me are people I have only met online.

rcarter2 : You got to experience the most important system ever, the Dreamcast, a lot of people didn't get to experience that lol, I feel fortunate enough to not only have experienced it, but to have been able to enjoy SegaNET while it lasted.

Turbo Grafx is to the Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis as the Dreamcast is to the Playstation, Xbox and GameCube, not sure why but that's how I've always viewed it.

YES!!!! I so want to play old arcade games, Sega CD, and PlayStation (a.k.a. PS1) games on this site!! I also hear that there's some good games on the 3DO (yet another disc-based system). I'd like to play the Wing Commander games (all leading up to #3, and maybe higher)!! If arcade games are gonna come to the site soon, I hope to see Ninja Baseball Batman (a very obscure arcade title), The Simpsons arcade game, Gauntlet Legends, TMNT: Turtles In Time, and many others! One Sega CD title I hope to see is Time Gal (because it was made by Toei Animation, the company that made Sailor Moon!). I hear there's 2 or 3 games based on The Land Before Time movies for the PlayStation, and I'll be hoping for those, too! The future is looking bright for this amazing website!! Let's keep it up!

MarioMcFly : Keep in mind that these things will only be possible if we can get enough donations, so far we only have around $200 worth of donations for this so it's currently looking very unlikely that we'll get the things you want.

If you didn't hear him say it before, hear it now: DS games won't be here anytime soon, not while they are still in retail and Nintendo's making money off them. Maybe sometime in the future, but as of now, just stick with the isos on other sites, or if you're no fagging pirate by a long shot (arrgh ya scallywags! XB ), go get some cheap ones at your local game store (I saw the prices at Gamestop). =B

Yeah I know Gamecube titles aren't being made anymore, but David still has concerns for the copyrights. So that's not likely either.

Speaking of which, this thought's been on my mind. . . You know that Nintendo has the Virtual Console service for downloading digital classic games from older consoles, and they were given modern ESRB ratings and consistent price tags, so you can't really say they're not making money off of them. . . And I like it as it is! '
So David, does that raise any more concern for copyright at all? Especially for the systems and titles that match those in the VC library as of now? Just wondering; I know you know about it.
