Oh, Beavis and Butt-Head. This was one of the more controversial cartoons in the 80s-90s. Plenty of kids had to sneak watching the show late at night because their parents forbade it. So you would expect that when they come out, you would expect the same good old mature rated fun. Sorry to disappoint you, but you really don' get thatt. As a matter of fact, this game is so far off from the Beavis and Butthead vibe, that you could replace the characters with just about anything, and it wouldn't be much of a difference. It is your basic side scrolling game that is very short, and only worth playing if you are bored, and need to eat up some time.

Graphics: 6
The Beavis and Butt-head cartoon was not known for good animation by any means. What was so great that these two were so ridiculous, stupid, and funny, that you couldn't care less about how simple the drawings and animation were. With that in mind, you would assume that a system with the capacity of the Super Nintendo, you could make it look at least as good as the cartoon was. But that is just not the case here. Though the colors are solid clean, something about it actually makes it look even more two dimensional than the later versions of the cartoon were, and that is saying something. I have seen plenty of video games made from cartoons that did the show justice in graphics, so the capacity of the the SNES is no excuse. But when you don't compare it to the cartoon, it is a bit above mediocre. Like I said, the graphics and characters are very clean, and the movements flow fairly well, although a little robotic at times. One thing that does bother me is that it seems the enemies in the background that you can't touch look and move better than your characters or the ones you can actually attack. Seems a little backwards to me.

Sound: 7
Now if there was one thing these two characters are very famous for, it is their laugh. You have to be living under a rock (even kids of younger generation) to hear "Huh huhhuh huh" and "Heeh, eheh heh" and not know exactly what the reference is. At least you get a lot of that in this game. It seems like 60% of the actions in this game trigger the famous laughs of these two characters. It is true that they weren't done well enough to not sound like a cheap imitation, but this is where the capacity of the SNES actually can work as an excuse. The main problem though, is that the laughing is such a huge portion of the total different sound effects. All the other ones are just as repetitive as the laughing, and there just is not that many of them. It is hard to miss this when almost everything has a sound effect, but when you pay close enough attention, you will realize that the same sounds are used quite often for different things. The music in this game is actually pretty good though. Every episode is nonstop rock that is actually hardcore as far as SNES music goes. You might catch yourself jamming out to the music a bit. The fact that they at least kept the cartoon theme song in here is a plus.

Addictiveness: 5
This is about as mid level addictiveness as you can get. After the first couple levels, you will see that 90% of the game play for each level is pretty much the same. What gives is a bump up is the fact that you do get variety in enemies that are unique to each level, and each level does have one section that is unique in game play to each level. But those sections are very short. Afterward, it is just the same thing. The story is also only okay. If would be completely illogical if this were any other game, but if you know Beavis and Butt-head, the reasoning behind this story actually makes some sense. It is just addictive enough to make you at least want to get through it once.

Story: 7
Like I said, this story would NOT make sense if it weren't a Beavis and Butt-head game. First off, the duo is also known for their love of a few things. Perverted thoughts, junk food, seeing others get hurt, and ROCK. The story is based off the last part. GWAR is coming to Highland, but Beavis and Butt-head have no money. So Butt-head comes up with the idea that if they took pictures of themselves doing cool things, they would be seen as so cool, they would let them in the concert for free. Illogical, but typical Beavis and Butt-head way of thinking. So each level is them trying to reach the point which they want to take a cool picture of themselves. The story is very simple, and doesn't develop much past that. To get the more in depth story behind each level, you would have to read the instruction booklet that goes into those details. Unfortunately, you don't get them in the game.

Depth: 4
The story is okay, but only because it is a Beavis and Butt-head game, and there is a lot of repetition. This is combo results in such a low depth score. At first, I though that the fact that you can switch back and forward between the two characters, that would mean strategy would come into play here. Usually, that means that the two have some advantage over the other that makes controlling them beneficial in certain areas. But instead, the switch function is no more than just being able to do so. They are no different from each other in any way other than looks. Lame. The only thing not making this lower are the short parts within each level that make them different in game play from the other levels. For example, you get chicken fights at the high school and clothes line jumping in the streets.I won't give anymore, because there are only 5 levels, which is another downfall to this game. Though the levels are fairly lengthy, they are so few that the game can be finished in about 20 minutes or less if done right.

Difficulty: 4
Along with shortness of this game, it is really easy once you get the hang of it. You might struggle at first, but after about a couple tries, you will be a master at this game. Although some of the platforming parts can be very slightly challenging. Pretty much, if you stay away from paintball guns and stick with the stick with and attached boxing glove, you are good to go, as it never runs out of ammo like the guns do. If it weren't for the fact that the levels are fairly long, which means more opportunities to make stupid mistakes, this game would be even lower in difficulty. You would figure a game that is supposed to be for older people would be more of a challenge.

Overall: 5.5
This was a time that the average of my initial scores reflects the overall score I thought it should be. Usually, I see my average, and see it is too low, so tweak scores that I might have been too harsh or generous over. I did not have to change anything here. 5.5 sounds about right for this game. It is about as mediocre as you can get. The graphics are descent for SNES, but far to 2D. The sound is repetitive and doesn't have much variety, but the music is pretty sweet. The game is only just addictive enough to to play the whole way through one time. The story is ridiculous, the reasoning behind it makes no sense, but actually works for a Beavis and Butt-head game. There is very little variety in game play except for a few short sections in each level. The game itself is very short as it only has 5 levels, and it is very easy to beat. If you are looking for old fashioned Beavis and Butt-head fun, skip this one because it is almost nothing like the vibe of the show. If you are curious, it is worth playing through once.

I love this show...

I didn't played the game yet... I've seen some videos of it and looks fun in my opinion.
I have to give it a chance.
