I chose Generation 4 because it introduced physical/special split.

Gen IV, with Gen II coming close. Not only was Gold/Silver/Crystal massive compared to the others, Heart Gold/ Soul Silver expanded on them and gave even more content with the actual possibility to catch them all.

I'm going to have to say generation 2. It may mostly be that I grew up with Pokemon Crystal, but the fact that you can travel to Kanto as well as play in Johto really sets it apart from some of the other games in the series. Generation 2 also spawned many game mechanics that were used in many of the later generations, like the use of day and night or having more then one pocket to hold all of the items you find on your adventure. Overall, the generation 2 games, to me at least, blew the others out of the water with its ideas, and game play.

Me like generation 3....Only one reason Treecko! Why you ask? Only because I love that little guy. That's my opinion. I grew up watching pokemon from generation one. But for some reason I was drew in by those treecko eyes...I feel like once generation three came out I became more obsessed with anime and that's why I choose Gen 3!!

Gen 3, primarily Emerald is my favorite.
Blaziken, Swampert, and Sceptile, 3 powerhouse starters. Blaziken in my opinion is the strongest and coolest of the 3, Sceptile knows leaf blade, Swampert just looks cool. I love the journey of Emerald. When I was young, I would always restart the game after reaching slateport because I never figured out how to get past the Aqua barricade, so Rustburo Woods, Roxanne, Brawly, Dewford Cave, and the route before Slateport were what I remember the most. I also happen to love the music of gen III. Gym Leader music, the Main Theme Champion Music, Elite Four music are all sick. Gen III was also the first to introduce an alternative game and finish the trio. Emerald has some slight differences than the other two, but you can fight Steven in the end, rebattle gym leaders, and of course that the game is set around Rayquaza

Generation 3 was awesome.  Many people say Gen 1 because they grew up with it...  But Gen 3 had the coolest pokemon.  Rayquaza, Groudon, Metagross, Salamence, and Milotic are just some.

I loved Gen III because of the games. I just have always found them to be the most enjoyable, while I think that the best story goes to Gen V, I find Gen III games to beat the others in all other respects.
