Today, I thought I'd make a start on this, but then I thought, DAMN.. Im leaving in about 2 hours and not coming back untill sunday. Heres my idea.
First things first with the battle arena, it needs to have a functioning battle system, so in the first baby steps of this major project I plan to make some modifications to vizzed board to allow this.

Im going to add a button to profiles called "Download Battle Stats" or something, it'll be a .xml file (or maybe a .vbs [vizzed battle system, any other ideas??] but still in xml format). This will contain all current stats, weapons and items.

The 2 files (of yourself and an opponent.. or just 2 randoms) will then be loaded into the flash player (actualy a .exe project file, yes, offline..) and the battle can begin.

The battle itself will not be graphical, but text based, but the buttons of what moves to do will be buttons (as in, you dont have to 'write' commands). The program will take into account effects of each weapon and item to the user.

I would like flash to export a log file (or pass it through another C++ app I make to export it) but I cant promise that it will be in the first releases.

What I Need
I need someone to think of a nicely layed out GUI. I was thinking of show stats towards top in 2 colums, below them show all buttons of possible moves (will be enabled/disabled from within flash where needed), and below that, a.. kind of log window. Where the battle takes place. The battle will look somewhat like this.

BigBob85 it is your move.
BigBob85 uses a medikit.
IceWave04 it is your move.
IceWave04 attacks BigBob85 doing 4321 damage.
BigBob85 you have 2131 HP left.
BigBob85 it is your move.
BigBob85 does a power strike to IceWave04 doing 31243 damage.
IceWave04 has died.
BigBob85 is the victor.

Ahh.. Where it says "doing xxxx damage" should it be "dealing xxxx damage" or maybe someone else might like to rewrite this how they would like to see it.


What else I need
Beta testers, it would be good to get this off the ground next week and have a working beta out so if anyone wishes to assist to test please PM me.
Also, testing is not just playing it. You must follow the offical battle system rules and maybe keep log in a txt file of what you record the battle as, just to ensure I got everything right in it. Also, try to find bugs with it.

After this, we will possible make a battle with graphics, and then after that, the full online installment. . I cant wait!!

But I wont start this until atleast monday. Hope everyone has a good weekend, see you all later!.

In all cases, the graphics are LAST. getting full functionality is far more important... Work on that, ive started considering some designs. But i need to 'recon' with david with it. Best not to make something, than have it dismissed...
