I haven't played the other versions of Tournament Fighters, but for the Sega Genesis, this game is ridiculous on many levels. This fighter doesn't really let you train since your Practice Mode is just a full paced 1 round battle and the CPU is unbelievably powerful no matter what "level" of difficulty you select.

Graphics of the characters are actually outlined quite well, the music is okay, and the story gives a decent excuse for you to fight your way through to Krang and Karai. However, without the knowledge of the special moves for each character, one will not last long at all in this game. Whether you play again or not is determined by your first impression: Is it too ridiculously hard to bother? Or do you want to prove the game is beatable? There is also a 2P and a Tournament Mode. The latter is just nonsense on the developer's part. You must defeat 88 opponents with 1 life bar. You get some health by taunting, but taunting just leaves you open for attack!

This game was a childhood favorite of mine and our Genesis died just as I figured out the moves, so finding this was great for me. However, others who do not have fond memories may just find frustrating experiences from this game.

Here's a link I found that explains moves. Desperation Moves can be used when health is flashing. There's also a Youtube video of someone actually winning Tournament Mode if you want to look for that. Thanks for reading and Good Luck!
