The thing about e85 is that it reduced forign oil dependancy and is FAR better for the enviroment. If your car is made to run on E85 it is not bad for your car. If it is not made to run on it a cars efficiency peak(test studies is at about a 50/50 mark before it slopes off.

What part of corn is used for ethanol, the bit we eat, or the rest?

It will probably be like desiel. Cheap as chips, untill alot of people start using it. When petrol was just hitting like, 90 cents a litre, gas (LPG) was hitting 16 cents a litre.

Desiel was so cheap here, untill like utes (trucks) and stuff started using it, then the price went up. Bit unfair for farmers and such, but thats the way it is. Did it happen like that in the US?
