As Zylo should know, first I have to say.....
LAUNCH GAMES

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess:
Nintendo fans, and Zelda fans alike, have been waiting for a Zelda game like this for a long time. When the original video was shown at E3 it was greeted with the loudest cheer I can remember hearing for a game. Keep in mind these were mostly journalists there to cover E3. Zelda will be released on the GC and Wii in slightly different versions, the Wii version will feature Wii controls, Progressive Scan, and 480p output. The game looks beautiful, it's art direction really helps the game out, while it's still a game that was made on the GC, it's going to be a very pretty game, and could be the biggest console game this fall.

Red Steel:
This game has always intrigued me, ever since we first heard about it. While it's E3 showing wasn't great, I still think old Ubisoft will push out a really good game. This game is very important in two ways, firstly it's a third party exclusive, and could very well be one of the determining factors that show whether Ubisoft or third parties in general will support Wii like they need to for Wii to be a success. The other reason it's important is because it sets a precedent for FPS's and First Person Adventure games. The most important factor to me is how well Ubi does with the controls.

FarCry
I was skeptical at first but it seems the rumor going around is true, a source tells me that FarCry will be coming to Wii. This is another Ubisoft game. Again FPS controls, and third party support are why this game is important. There were a few other games rumored with this one, they include: Blazing Angels: Squadrans of WWII, GT (some sort of racer), and some Prince of Persia game.

Rayman Raving Rabbits
A platforming game from a very good series of platformers, this version of Rayman was made for the Wii from the ground up. This one may get overlooked by some, but from what I've seen it's going to be a very pretty game.

Ubisoft's other 4 Launch games:
Monster 4x4 World Circuit (a monster truck racing game)
Blazing Angels: Squadrons of WWII (A WWII fighter plane game)
GT Pro Series (A drift style racing game with 80 licen
Open Season

Wii Sports:
Although I don't know if I'll get this or play it, this to me is a very exciting game for Wii. Wii Sports consists of simple games with simple graphics that will allow anyone to just pick up a controller and play. So far forms of Tennis, Ping Pong, Baseball, and some type of airplane game. This is a game that could draw in some people that don't really play games. It could catch fire like Brain Training did for the DS.

Excitetruck:
This is a game everyone would be able to play and have fun with. It's a fast arcade like racer with easy to learn controls. Non-gamers would even be able to play.

Madden 2007:
It's very surprising to me that I am actually able to list game as a game I'm excited for, but even more so surprised that I will actually say it's going to be an important game. Firstly, for the same reason Red Steel was important, third party support. Secondly, Madden is going to have a very different control scheme from what we've seen before. So far I've heard the game looks very promising.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Crystal Bearers and Dragon Quest: Swords Unconfirmed for launch.
These two again are of great importance when it comes to third party support. Very little is known about how these games wll play, so there is little I can say about them. That being said, the rumor going around is that if DQ: Swords (and the DQ DS game) does well that Dragon Quest IX could be Wii exclusive. These two games alone ensure a good Japanese launch (seeing as DQ is pretty much the most popular series in Japan, I think it even beats out FF).
More launch games to come.

Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz
This installment of Monkey Ball will be taking advantage of the Wiimote. The main game will be similar to past games, with the added ability to jump. There looks to be a lot of mini-games, but we don't know the final details yet. One of the new mini-games is Monkey Darts.

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
Another game that will be a benchmark for FPSs/As on Wii. If this and Red Steel turn out being really good at launch they will set a high standard for other FPSs/As.

Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 Unconfirmed for launch
Although I'm not as excited for this game as I am for most others, I feel this is another important one from Nintendo. This simply provides another genre for Wii. This time Nintendo is trying to get variety out there and this game will help that.

NON-LAUNCH/ UNKNOWN RELEASE DATE GAMES:

First off I need to say that I think there is some major unannounced title due for launch.

Super Mario Galaxy
Out within the first six months of the systems Life. Could be better than Mario 64. Mario game, nuff said.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl
We've been over this one before.

He's only got 15 threads regarding the Wii/Revolution in this forum

Most of those games listed to look good, but you forgot the Super Monkey ball game that'll be out for Wii, unless that's not a launch title.

Fixed my underline. I'm going to add Super Monkey Ball and a few other games soon. This is just a thread to summarize all the games to watch out for on Wii.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess:
I'm still waiting for the legendary EpiChronological title; A Link In Time, wherein Link travels to all the different Legend of Zelda "time periods" (games), all with revamped 3d graphics, of course, and has to defeat the time-travelling Ganon.

Red Steel:
I thought Deus Ex was supposed to "set a precedent" for FPS games. Boy was I wrong! I played it, and the levelling up was too slow, the gameplay was too slow, and the everything was too slow. You can't make a shooter into an RPG. Then it's an RPG, and not a shooter. Give a player a gun with only 5 bullets, and he'll give your game to the nearest pawn shop.

Wii Sports:
Pong IS tennis. I don't know if anybody noticed.
Sports games don't strike a good cord within me. Ever since they decided to remake each one every year, it has picked up some kind of "DragonBall Z" undertone, where you have 15 million of something, and it becomes utter crap a chore to play through them all.
For the record, Brain Training didn't catch fire. It just caught Sudoku addicts. Sudoku was already HUGE world-wide by the time that game came out, and it was the first Sudoku-DS title that was mass-marketed.

Excitetruck:
Excite-Bike. With Trucks. Trucks don't go fast. Trucks don't do jumps. Nobody will buy it.

Madden 2007:
Err... I thought I mentioned something like this in "Sports" above, but I'll re-iterate. I bought Madden 05 with my DS, only because it came with World Championship Poker, as a box set for 15$, and Kirby's Canvas Curse was out of stock. I played it for a good half-hour or so, and realized that you just can't win. Sure, maybe you can score a goal. And heck, maybe there is some sort of 'win' programmed in there. But I doubt that it's the player's skill that wins. I doubt if the DS functionality, or any functionality of any platform (let alone the Nintendo Bongo controller) would actually help ANY madden title, EVER.
How would the Bongo thing work? Umm... Remember that good olde "Track and Field" game, that came out with the very first DDR-type stomp-mat, back in the 80's? Kinda like that. Only with your hands. The faster you drum, the more touchdowns you score.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Crystal Bearers and Dragon Quest: Swords
OH NO NOT ANOTHER FINAL FANTASY. Square should stick to movies. They have VERY good plotlines, and the slowness of "Random Encounter Fatigue" kills it. I mean, who in their right mind played through Xenogears and got to all the philosophical and theosophical inferences tied in with the plotline? Who even played it as far as the Soylent Green chapter? But if XenoGears was a movie? EVERYONE would watch it, and they'd watch it *gasp* ALL THE WAY THROUGH.

FarCry
FPS again? Not as "revolutionary" as the other, I take it...

Super Mario Galaxy
I still think this should be like "Spore: Evolution in the Mushroom Kingdom".

Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Smash Brothers. Classic Multiplayer Madness. Join the ranks of SSX and DDR. =) Omg, it's SSB!

I'm just not really that interested in it right now. I know it will be good, and I will probably pick it up at some point, but I have just never been a fan of the way Metroid does the backtracking.

It's not supposed to be thought of as "backtracking," it's supposed to be thought of as "you know that ledge you were trying to reach earlier but couldn't figure out how? Well, now you can get to it!"

But still, duly noted. I'll remember that for when I'm directing a Metroid title.

I think it's more about the being somewhere and having to go most of the way across the game world (fighting monsters/ pirates/ whatever) and then once you get the item you need to go right back to the room next to the room you started in (and fighting whatever on the way back). In something like Zelda or an RPG it's different.

There's a ton of backtracking in Zelda and RPGs, going back to towns after you've completed quests to get new quests (and buy new stuff)... It goes back to what I said about First Person Shooters (Since metroid seems to be turning into one)... It used to be an excellent title... A free-scrolling platformer, with a female main character. Now it's turned into another Deus Ex, hasn't it?

I was saying that in Zelda and RPG's the backtracking was a bit different. Metroid keeps too much platforming to really become an FPS.

Valve, the creators of Half-Life, make most of their games for PC...some make it so Xbox and 360 but I dont think they'd make it to anything sony or nintendo.
