New Super Mario Bros. came out on the DS at the end of May. I picked it up and it's a great game. It's a throwback to the 2d Super Mario Bros. games but they added things like Wallkicks and Triple Jumps. Did anyone else get it? If you have a DS or a DSL I recommend you pick it up asap.

Game Informer gave this game a 9.25 as a rating. I read in that magazine that Large Mario was probably a useless power-up. Mini Mario, on the other hand, was quite useful. I, myself, have only played a few minutes of the game, but once I get enough money to buy a DS, this game and 2 others I will be buying.

"Large Mario" is the new Invincibility. Nothing can bite you, and you can say goodbye to half the level. In addition, when you're Embiggened, you can't fall into small pits in the way Mario used to love to do, when he got a StarMan. Didn't you just hate that? And jumping over big pits? Child's play for Large Mario. Just watch out for Large Goomba! ;D

When you're Small Mario? All the enemies, jumps, and pits are twice as big! And the level takes twice as long to get through!

Err... Just one thing... Make sure you buy more Screen Protectors. You'll need them. KCC doesn't use the Direction pad, nor the A or B buttons. Pure TouchScreen Action, baby!

I have some advice for anybody who has KCC.

In Medal Swap, you can ignore buying the first three items. They just put different Songs into the Sound Test mode. Who ever uses Sound Test?

The second three are different colored Paintbrush Lines. A Black and White line, Red Black and Yellow line, and a Red Yellow Blue line instead of a Rainbow line. =D Yeah, I liked the lines. But they're not totally necessary. Unless you have to prove to your parents that you're not playing a gay creampuff-rainbow game. Then you might want to get Zebra Line, and unlock some of those extra characters pretty quick.

The next one is a Life Boost Point for Kirby. Might want to get this one ASAP, as it's cheaper than the other two.

The next eight buyable items are Special Courses you can unlock for "Rainbow Run". That's the place that you can compete in various levels for the fastest time, or the least "touchscreen ink" used, and earn up to 6 medals per course. (That's 48 medals that you have to buy the priveledge to compete for, using medals! So yes, unlocking these is beneficial, if you want to be able to unlock other things!) The second four courses are unlocked for purchase, individually, when you buy each of the first four courses.

The next two are also life points for Kirby. This should put him up to 6 or 7. That's a LOT of Life Points, Kirb! When I was your age, Kirby had like 3 or 4 life points, and rolled uphill to school, both ways! And we liked it!

Anyhow, after that, in the list, there are two buyable hidden characters, and "Special Songs". When you unlock that very last item, you can listen to the Original Kirby Music, in various levels. How awesome is that? These three things are all locked, however, at the start. You'll have to figure out how to win them! (Though I will say that one unlocks itself when you buy one of the other ones.)

The most useless item to me is Shell Mario, because you can't run to far without going into your shell. If they have it in the next game they make like this I think they should have it where you have to push down on the D-Pad to go into your shell.

A couple of things to note:

When you're playing, you usually hold down the dash button right? Well, when you're Shell Mario and you're running fast, if you go into your shell, you can just let up on the dash button and he'll come out of the shell.

But when you're Mini Mario, you are supposed to be able to jump higher and farther, so actually you can probably finish the level pretty quick -- but you miss a lot of items and things doing that.
