So, I've seen things like Planetary National Defence, and that weird Vampire game, and that old game I used to play on WebTV about... I dunno, some sort of territory wheat-harvesting game, and I think we can do better than the wheat-harvesting game I saw. Who wants to make a better wheat-harvesting game with me?

I'm gonna need...
A SQL security guy...
A graphic design guy...
A server owning guy...
A PHP guy...
And I can do any or all of these things, I just want someone else who can do any or all of them too. And you can be a girl instead of a guy, I don't mind.

I use http://dhost.info/
They have 100megabyte space and 300gb traffic.
It's a little slow and harsh rules but if you need more space you can just ask for it.
And there's also http://www.funpic.org/ many persons use this for acmlm boards and it seems to work just fine fast but may all of a sudden close your site so remember backups.

The only catch is that you have to get your site approved other then that none.

Okay, in my game idea, the world starts out with "basic resources" scattered about haphazardly in fields and forests, near lakes and rivers, in mountains and underground. There are Living resources and Non-living resources. The areas can all be harvested and utilized as either Foods or Textiles. Now, all of this happens fairly automatically, but you do get to decide on certain things.

For instance, you can decide whether you want your culture to be peaceful or war-driven, vegetarians, omnivores, or carnivores, whether they should be industrialist or primitive, shepherders, nomads, or farmers.

You may also control whom you are enemies with in the game, after your culture reaches a certain level of progress. At that point, you will be notified, and NPCs and PCs alike will be able to engage in wars with you. Supply routes can be established or broken, or cut off by warring nations.

You have control over Harvesting areas, Money and Surplus; what your culture decides to buy and trade with other players, what routines should be set up or left to fate. You can choose from various Jobs and Research for your people to focus their efforts. You control birth rate and immigrations within your culture, and you can also "play god" by managing the ratio of Male/Female births.

How all this "plays out" in the game, however, I have yet to figure out. =)

Like, what, it reads your mind? Or automatically generates it a certain way, and you have to play within the rules? Or what? =)

I mean, if your building up a big army, and defences, but not taking much care to harvest crops and whatever. Then you'd be a war driven culture.

Is there gona be like an allignment thing. Where, you can be shown as good and evil? Depending on what deeds you do, wethere there good or bad?

I wont be able 2 help much wif this game. Still doen mine, n starting my own business. Gona be busy.

What sort of deeds would one be capable of?

In a game like Fable, it is perhaps easy, most of the time, to tell whether the things you do are good or evil. A man asks for a coin. If you give him one, you're good. If you kill him, you're evil. If you don't give him one because you're poor, you may still be good. If you have more than enough money, and you don't give him one, then you might be more evil.

But in a game where you control a culture?

I must let you all know I have been planning an ultimately complex game for a while, and I was going to call it "Lords of the Land", or LoL. It would be a web-based game, where you could interact with other people, but you would also BE a person, a peasant, and you could work your way up from there to owning armies. This game may be a prequel to LoL, or it will possibly grow into LoL.

From what you say, Managing those Percentages DOES create alignments. You don't choose whether you are a war-driven culture, but how much war you decide you want to drive your culture with, does decide for you. You don't choose whether your people are vegetarian or not, but if you only have vegetables as easily accessible food items that you provide them, then most likely, unless your peasants buy their own chickens, they are.

[EDIT: CHICKENS! CHICKENS I SAY!]
