He had about 100 posts and he made another account after he was banned.
And he allready had 200 posts on the old board. And what if acmlms legal contract was that? It's their board their rules either you live with it or you ingnore it.

A warning isn't a ban. Also I was talking more about the language/ flaming than the whole being against Acmlm. I don't care for Acmlm the only reason I pointed out what I did was because Stephen didn't understand/ didn't know why we were saying that this is an Acmlm board.

Well since Acmlm hasn't set down any rules about people who own his forum, we can do whatever we want on them.

One of the reasons' to making this forum was me and a few others wanted a less strict forum than acmlm's board, one that you can relax and chat without worrying about being banned. Banning isn't something I enjoy doing, and since I value the members on my board (unlike the mods on acmlms board), I'd prefer not to ban but just to give out warnings instead...and those warnings may never even lead to a ban.

The swearing thing is a huge issue. Some make it part of their vocabulary, and some get offended by seeing the words. I can go both ways but I prefer not to use them myself. If we could somehow make a swear word filter feature that people can enable or disable, that'd satisfy everyone. If a person has the feature enables, all swear words would look sort of like this $#!^ but if you have it disabled, you'd see all the words...of course, this feature would be disabled by default. There is an acmlm board hack out there that blocks all bad words (and you can choose which words of course), bu the feature doesn't allow for you to enable or disable.


Bigbob: I think it'd probably prefer slowly changing this board into a "vizzed board" rather than starting fresh, I've always been against starting a board over because than the board sort of loses it's history.

Agreed. I hate it when the board loses it's history. You remember how much of a fuss I put up ever time you guys decided "Yay we need upgradez!"? =P

It does get pretty annoying when board's like to restart all the time, eventually I just don't feel like posting on those board's anymore (such as Acmlms Board when they restarted).

ANyway, upgrades are nice, just as long as they don't do more harm to the board than good.

Like those things I used to make on the board? I think that messaging system I was doing was pretty cool.

Well this is the one and only vizzed which only replaced the falling apart vizzed.

Think of it as a rusty old school building that is falling apart. They destroy it and build up a bigger and better school. It's in the same spot, same name, same students, just has a better look and more functions (although a few were lost).

yeah... not to mentionnew students.. Me for one... and some stundest were lost to...

Lol. But I think that was partially a security upgrade as well. Can't remember now it was over a year ago now.

He 'claimed' it was a security upgrade, but seriously, it's PHP. I can make a security upgrade to the actual code. It's second nature. But everyone was like "Oh, no, better do it his way and lose all the advanced features and all the old posts, and everyone has to re-register"...
Because nobody trusts me, apparently. ;p

Oh well it's done now. Bookworm actually told us about a few holes this time around so that helped us out.

All those revisions I made to the old board. All that work I put into a messaging system, making the threads mass-selectable, and every other little tweak and applet I devised... Down the drain for NOTHING.

It appears so we had a few hackers, finally he showed us how to fix it. I think it had something to do with Page source. I guess you aren't going to redo your features now?
