Given the increase in antisemitism in recent years, it has puzzled many critics why Holocaust Denial has been 'allowed' to continue, nobody can surely believe that it did not occur, given that 11 million people died, Jews, Gypsies, Disabled, Elderly, Homosexual in the quest to create a master race, it would seem somewhat short sighted of a Fascist to deny it occured, in the original trials the people in charge seemed almost proud of their actions.

There is a current belief that the far right could swing into power and gaimore influence if they dropped the holocaust denial part and smartened up their act to target the public with messages of immigration and migration.

I am concerned that if these parties did have a PR makeover it may blur the edges of what they truly beleive.

Given that totalitarian dictators thrive on keeping their country men ill informed of the state of the rest of the world we are on rocky territory when in a time of constant media exposure our youth are not aware of the tyranny of fascism that was fought in Europe.

What are your views on this most sensitive of subject areas?

I've looked into this a little bit and it seems like Holocaust deniers are fixated on one thing and one thing only.... a vast Jewish conspriacy to destory the muslims. Those are the primary holocaust deniers. Or facist/white-supremacists. Either way they use the conspiracy idea to justify any bit of info that doesn't fit with the official story and claim that is enough proof to show that it didn't happen.

You can't deny the proof that is out there.... well, I guess you can but that only goes to show how ignorant some people choose to be about a situation.

As for being allowed.... I think it should be allowed. Differences of opinion should not be discouraged. I think it should be looked down upon for sure. Anyone who holds this viewpoint should not be received well among the general public nor encouraged to hold the viewpoint. But making it illegal in any way goes against what democracy and free speech are all about.

They are allowed to have their beliefs... as hateful and wrong as they might be. But the second they become a threat to others I say it is time to lock them up, the world has seen enough hate crimes against the Jews.

They can drop the denials as part of their platform ideas but they personally still believe it, and people will know that... unless they are total morons or believe it themselves.

I honestly have no respect for holocaust deniers. It's just so... dumb. So everyone over in Europe and every soldier from every nation who went into the camps and saved the people there... are all in on this massive conspiracy and they all decided to just make up that a whole bunch of horrible things happened to people. I guess there are some things about ancient history that you can choose to deny if you're pigheaded enough, but denying something that happened within the last century that involved millions of people and some people involved are still alive today, seems so idiotic I'm surprised they can even make their tongue form the words to deny the holocaust. Some things like young earth beliefs that defy all science and logic I can understand because the people are blinded by their faith, but something like this that doesn't even ask for any faith or belief... I can't even understand the mentality behind it. If it makes people happy to think that, I guess that's fine then, as long as I don't have to talk with them and as long as they don't get violent about it.

Makes no sense denying it didn't happen... I mean auschwitz is real, nazis are real, and so are all the photographs of all the dead jews. If they faked it they sure had great FX back in the day But that is just me, who knows what happened, I wasn't there so I'm not going to give a 100% correct answer.

Sure there is a conspiracy, but it doesn't have to do with it never existing. 9/11 can be considered fake too... but it did happen. I think they just took the conspiracy a bit too far, calling it fake is just ridiculous itself. Most of the times its the agenda that is fake, not so much the event that occurred.

My view is that one could only deny the holocaust if their worldview is dictated to them and/or they are part of social environment that feeds on ignorance. Unfortunately people are becoming increasingly ignorant about these things, for whatever reason. Their understanding could also be blurred by coming from or living in an extremist society.

i just gave up even trying to rationalise what people say.at the end of the day there are extremists in every religion and typically they hate others religions.an example would be some neo nazis in america who said they hated jews because they lied about the holocaust and they were trying to subvert america from within.

I agree with geo and elara. I think they should be allowed to have their own opinions. But if they start going crazy and lynching people like the KKK does, then yeah they should be stopped. But until they become violent, not much can be or should be done about them.

Holocaust deniers freak me the hell out. It makes little to absolutely no sense. I agree that they have a right to their opinion, however hateful others may find it, but if I ever met someone who was a holocaust denier I would probably avoid them as much as possible- For similar reasons that BTowns mentioned.

Denying the Holocaust, to me, is like denying that the ocean is made of water. All the evidence is right there- the remnants of concentration camps, the numbers tattooed on peoples arms, THE SIX MILLION PEOPLE DEAD- with so much evidence staring you in the face, how can you deny something so obvious?

As a Jewish person who's grandparents suffered in the holocaust, I really take offense to these kinds of claims. What kind of person must you be to deny the deaths of millions of people when they died less than a century ago? Sure, they have an excuse (that the Holocaust is a conspiracy created by the Jewish people to make them more powerful) but really, that's ridiculous! It's not like all the Jewish people around the globe are conspiring to make themselves powerful. It's a religion, not an evil organization. People who actually think this... I just don't get it. I don't. I can't even begin to comprehend what they must think.

However, I can't force my beliefs on others, and they have the right to think what they want to, no matter how ridiculous I may believe it is. Otherwise, their right to free speech would be denied. And to be denied your right to say what you wish because it goes against what someone else believes is the last thing I'd want happening.

iceycold724 : Not to make you feel any worse or anything, but it was actually 12 million people more or less who died in the Holocaust, 6 million of them were Jewish. People who deny the Holocaust aren't to be taken seriously, they're just trying to gain attention, or they're are so deluded that they're not worth anyone's time. I doubt the naysayers will get violent, but they will be put down if they do.
