I just watched my brother go through this entire game in 10 hours. I have just about beatin the NES version of this game and dear god. This game is so much easier than the original it's unbelievable. But they also through those weird shrines in there that give you weird new items and you have to fight bosses from the other Final Fantasys. Quite interesting. But seriously you have MP and stuff. You used to have save all your spells til you got to the boss, now you can use the spells like 100s of times before you go back to the INN. Plus the money situation is phenominal. You start with your equipment, the spells and items cost a huge margin less. . . oi. The graphics are quite nice though Im starting my game on Final Fantasy II now, its also much easier than the original (as I have played that as well on NES) but not by too much. I just got Minwu and I'm going for the Mythril in Salamand, then to the cave or whatever. I think im about done talking now.

Is there another besides Origins? If so then why wasn't I informed? Anyways, I haven't yet played through both of the two games in Origins yet, but I watched my bro beat number one on easy. They both looked pretty tough, even on easy. If only my PS2 wasn't broken I'd go play it right now.

Hmm, the Original FF 1 & 2 were on NES, afaik.

And our 2 is their 3 and our 3 is their 4..

I *think* that's how it is anyways, Their 3 might've been on NES as well, it's just been a hell of a long time since I've been into gaming.

Anthology - FFV, FFVI (III for the SNES in US, dumb)
Chronicles - CT, FFIV (II for the NES, stupid)
Origins - FFI, and FFII (both were on NES)

Origins is an updated version of the classics.

But, being an owner of both that, and the new GBA port of the two games as some have mentioned, FFI and FFII Dawn of Souls, I prefer the GBA one over the originals, and PSX port.

There's plenty of new dungeons in both games, FFII has been really reworked to be much more user friendly and more enjoyable, the weird MP system from FFI has been replaced with a more modern MP system, where you have a basic amount / total; rather than an amount for each Magic Level. And, it's on the road.

Dawn of Souls = Best way to go for FFI and FFII.

FF2 in Dawn of Souls sucks, no questions asked. They changed the battle system for it just too much. A little tweak would have been different but they almost completely reconstructed it to make it easier. I'm sorry but that doesn't bode well with me. I've played all FF games except Japanese 3, which is coming out soon on the DS, and I've beaten or seen the game played through on all but one, excluding that number 3. They are my favorite games of any series or console or anything and I'm very critical of them and have a strong opinion about them all. This is probably why I see FF7 is the worst of the series so far. It was good, no doubt, but it didn't live up to what I would have expected. FF8 came closer, FF9 nailed it...FFX was strange but good and so on. FFXI should not be called FFXI but FFonline instead. And I'm absolutely dying(literally I think ) to play FFXII.

Yea...it did, they screwed around with it so that you couldn't level your equipment stats by selecting attack, then canceling and pressing attack: Repeating the process gave you 1% of 100 every time So they screwed around with it trying to fix and ruined it....I didn't like the game to start with...FF1 is the best game out of the early ones

I also have owned or beat all of them on all systems across the board, except for FF2 on the NES, and I think 2 on the PS1 is the hardest of all of them! I keep getting randomly lost getting from one place to another, so it's taken me forever to get thru it.

*Giggle* I KNOW I'm dateing myself, but did you know there's a mini boss in FF1? Yep, If you walk back and forth on that long pathway in frount of Tamatt, The Air Boss(God! I hate my spelling!) About the 10th or 12th battle in(When you're almost dead, more than likely) You'll see a big mech called Warmatech. Killing him is another matter, though. He knows Nuke(And will cast it sometimes 3 times in a row), and can hit like 150 or 250 per hit.

Err...There's a huge story about why I know that, and it has to do with an OLD Nintendo Power contest when FF1 for the NES FIRST came out, and a very cool prize to a 7 year old...

Err...Yeah, I was the seven year old. *Sigh* I guess the story runs like this...

*Cocks head to side* Let's see. When Nintendo Power was just getting started(And I think you can look them up in the back issues on the website) They had a HUGE contest when FF1 was just relesied. There was a set of three questions, every month for 3 months. And if you answered them all, and got the secret boss(Witch was Warmatech) on camera, you won a trip to a secret island in the Carrabean, a film crew to follow you around, and a full FF1 costume, to take home. And the reason you got the film crew was the island in the Carrabean was a piret's island, and wereing the costumes, you got to solve the secret of the island. In essance, A REAL, living FF where YOU are the star...I still remember the first 3 questions, in the first month, and the last question of the 3rd month...
