The last Fantasy book I read is Inheritance, the 4th and last book in the Eragon series. I highly recommend this series. They even made a movie out of the first book, Eragon. If you like dragons, elves, and other fantasy elements, then I hope you will look into this wonderful book series.

Wow gosh I haven't read a book without a focus on images in ages. I remember I read The Hobbit several months ago to get a better idea how it compared to the new movies. Then I was surprised at how much is dragged along in the movies, how much filler there is and I got sort of pissed... Sorry got caught up in my fury a bit.

It has been quite a while since I read fiction that was not politically "charged."

But if that still counts, then it was Anthem, one of Ayn Rand's first books. It has the same themes (individual over collective, free the human mind) but in an easier way to digest since the book is not even 100 pages long.

Otherwise, the last sci-fi / fantasy book I read would have to be from Jules Vernes. Maybe 6 Weeks in a Hot-Air Ballon?

The last Sci-fi I guess would be A Study in Scarlet by Arthur Conan Doyle. If that doesn't count then I guess Get off the Unicorn by Anne McCaffrey.

Lately, I've been in a Lord of the Rings mood so I've pretty much been binging on that series.
