Changing dialog in the game is causing issues.

When I insert Dialog, then apply it to a new person, it works.

When I change dialog without exceeding the character limit, it sometimes gets cut off or runs constantly without pausing to wait for me to press A. I found that this could be solved by pressing Enter to start a new line.

When I change dialog that exceeds the character limit, it asks me to repoint. I always accept. The 6-digit code next to "Text offset (Hex):" changes. I save in Advance Text, then go to Advance Map. I find and select the character whose script was changed in Advance Text and change the "script offset:" to match the new code from Advance Text. The program did not reject any of it.

When I tested the game, all people who had been repointed stopped working. When I stand next to them and press A, nothing happens. They continue as if I had done nothing. It's as if there is no script at all. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

The trouble "People" are the 2 Pokédexes on the table in Oak's Lab, the Mart Guy on Route 1, a character I added in Viridian City, and the boy in the Viridian PokéMart.

I can't check beyond that because the old man glitches the game when he shows me how to catch a Weedle. After he catches it, I lose control of my character, but the screen can still move. Turns out I get control over the person I created in Viridian City. When I leave the square he was standing on, there are 3 different squares I can move on.

The N is where he started, the Y is a square he can walk on, and the H is a square he should be able to walk on, but can't. It seems I can't battle in an area where I created a character since something similar happened when I put Wild Pokemon in Pallet with a new guy.

I have no idea what is going on. Does anyone have a guess? I'm thinking about restarting and just making sure I don't make any new people in a battle area or repoint the script.

I'll attach a picture of me controlling the old guy. The trainer with the gray hat used to be an old man. Now it's me. My original trainer sprite can't move at all.
