Any of those first person shooter games like Halo and CoD are just so overrated to me. It's the same game over and over again just rehashed with the same repetitive game play. It's like pornography for the mind.

I think I played this Kingdom Hearts game... I believe it was Chain of Memories. Anyways, at first it was interesting, you had to make a deck and stuff. I thought it was fun...at first. Eventually, it just became button mashing. Button mashing to me is not fun in an RPG.

ponerj : Whoa. I never hear VI being overrated (that distinction usually goes to VII). I thought that it had the best story and characters of the entire series. I agree to disagree. How do you feel about FFIV?

Kingdom Hearts 2. It's not as enjoyable for me as the rest of the series(minus that PS2 version of Chain of Memories) is. I loved the game, but still, I see all this praise, and am like, "It's great, but what happened to the interesting worlds?"

It's like that game was the beginning of making casual gaming some sort of gaming genre... Seriously...

Also, I found the third Jak game to be overrated in a different sense... It's a fun game, and most praise it gets is deserved, but it's actually kinda boring compared to the second Jak game... Maybe it was just because of the lowered difficulty that was a little too low, or maybe it was the less gritty atmosphere. I don't know... It just felt like it lost the edge of Jak 2.

I didn't like the difficulty being cranked over 11 in Jak 2, but it was one of those games that I somehow can come back to, and attempt the angering crap more just to further the story. The story is so good, and so interesting. Jak 3's story was a bit of a bummer when I bought it, and replayed it. It felt like the story had a concept that was more common.

With Jak 2, you got an interesting political plot that was typical, but the way it was delivered, and the characters involved... They just made it hard to even feel any blandness. For example, Torn's personality was so well created, and his dialogue was not like the typical leader of a rebellion. He was serious, and gruff, but also had a sadistic sense of humor, and he just made the rebellion leader thing well-done.

I also find the third Sly Cooper game a bit over-praised. The first two seemed to be more fun to me. The third one... It felt like it was trying to end the story way to hard. By this, I mean it was trying to go out with a bang. The bang felt like the end of an anxiety attack, or the minute you stop feeling buzzed after drinking a beer. It just was kinda forced, and could have used work.

I love this game, and can't ever think of great superhero games without thinking of this one, but honestly, Spider-Man 2 for the game consoles was overrated. It was an amazing movie tie-in game, and was just excellent, but it was also like the Grand Theft Auto for people who want to have some kind of morals involved. I mean, it makes sense due to the fact that Spider-Man 2 is about being Spider-Man, but... It just gives this taste in your brain that makes you think, "Man... I wish I could kill the people not being criminals..." The use of sandbox style gameplay could really have been done better.

Anything that says Halo or cod is overrated to the max. but you could say that most popular nintendo characters are a bit overrated, though It is extreemly hard to say that since those characters are legends in the gameverse.

Everquest-that game was so lame there was no story or anything but stand in one spot until you reach a certain level then move over the hill for another 4 levels. Boo-urns

Final Fantasy
The only one I've played is Crystal Chronicles and it was just busy work the entire time. It seemed formatted like an RPG, but all I did was run through a level blasting everyone with fire, find a boss and blast it with fire until it dies (no weak spots or anything, just blast it), and collect a drop of water so you can save the tree in your home village. As soon as you beat it, it starts over again with different levels. It was like a 3D version of Super Mario Bros. The only difference was that Super Mario Bros has more variety.
