Favorite character? Have you read the manga, seen the anime, watched the live-action films?

To me the Live-Action film was...alright. Wasn't the best thing I've ever seen.

My favorite character would either have to be L or Mello.

I've read the entire manga series, watched some of the anime, and I own all of the live-action films =3
L is my favorite character, but Ryuk is my second favorite.

My favorite character was L so I couldn't stand Mellow or Near. Mellow's voice irritated me, plus he didn't really do anything. What bugged me about Near was his ability to magically know everything. When L knew something, he told how he figured it out through deductive reasoning. Near just knew everything for no reason. In my opinion, Near was nothing more than a L wannabe. That's why I liked the ending of the live action movies better than the actual anime. I don't think the anime or the manga should have carried on without L. He was the predominant enemy of the main character. To replace him with a couple of irritating guys who don't even live up to his standards was god awful.

I loved this show.... the live-action was about as good as could be expected.

I agree with Chaos.... L was better than who he was replaced with.

However, I liked Light the most. I was rooting for him almost the entire time

I tried to watch it once but I couldn't really follow the plot.

I couldn't stand Light for a lot of reasons, including:

1) His arrogance and ever-growing ego.
2) The way he used Misa.
3) His warped sense of justice.


L is my favorite for a lot of reasons, including:

1) His appearance: unkempt emo-ish hairstyle, pale skin, dark circles under the eyes. I just think he's cute in general. ^-^
2) His quirky-ness: the way he sits, the way he holds a phone, the way he eats, his diet of sweets, tea, and coffee.
3) He is a genius without being arrogant about it.
4) It has been hinted at numerous times in the anime and the manga that L is a pretty decent person with a likable personality. In an episode of the anime, he shared his ice cream with the other detectives, displaying generosity. Despite the fact that he LOVES his sweets, he was more than willing to share with his partners. At one point in the anime and manga, he tells Light that he is his first friend, and despite the fact that he still suspects Light, he is still reasonably kind towards him.

My favorite character would have to be L since he's brilliant and he was the top 3 detecctives! Even though Near was like a L copycat, I still liked him. His Light/Kira toy was kinda creepy though. But L was amazing. L was way smarter than Light, in my opinion and the only reason L died was because Light had an advantage. Light had the death note! I also thought Near cheated when he got everyone to believe Light was Kira because L already pointed that out, Near only had to explain how. In the beginning, I kind of liked Light but I absolutely HATED Light like hell after he killed L. I was really glad when Light died but I sort of felt bad for him. And now that I think about it, if Light traded his eyes for shinigami ones then would he have died like 3 seconds after?

I've watched all the anime and live action movies. I didn't care for the first two movies but the third one was great. They got the perfect actor for L.

I liked Light, L, and Ryuk the most. Light because he's a maniacal genius and I agree with some of his ideals...to a degree. I liked L because he's an eccentric genius and I think he's actually smarter than Light. Ryuk...just because. I love the way he looks.

L is by far my favorite character. right next to Light.
